Fancy a vacation in Kenya? Here near the city of Mombasa you can definitely spend a few days at the beautiful Nyali Beach.
I stayed at Reef Hotel Mombasa for three nights during my trip through Kenya and Tanzania.
The breakfast and dinner in the Reef Hotel as well as the outdoor area with the pool and the bars were great.
The Reef Hotel is located on the eastern outskirts of Mombasa. By car it is just under 30 minutes to the city center of Mombasa and just under 45 minutes to the Mombasa Terminus, the rail connection between Mombasa and the capital Nairobi.
A staircase leads directly from the hotel complex down to the beach. Here you will find a fine sandy beach and of course friendly people who would like to sell you something or offer you a ride on a camel.
Of course, a "No" is also understood and accepted.
The Reef Hotel is clearly showing its age, which is noticeable in the thatched roof of the building or in the hotel rooms. Overall, the Reef Hotel is in good condition. The pool area and garden were very well maintained and, above all, the food was good and plentiful. And the staff was great too.
The price / performance ratio in the Reef Hotel was good.
