This is one seriously underrated band - saw them in Truro last year and they are one of Britain's greatest rock acts. I'm guessing they are better now than they ever were. GO SEE EM.
@@Syklonus Everyone still talks about Oasis but no one ever mentions Reef. A pity as the likes of Oasis (asides a few great tracks) are very overrated.
March 2023…just heard this song in the preshow music at a Muse concert. Shazamed it, of course, and was shocked that I had never heard this song in the decades since it’s release!
Of all time? You sir have opened Pandora box! Certainly up there with the best riff of the 90's. I saw these guys play it live a few years back at the Isle of Wight Festival and they were awesome live. It might be bettered by 'Waterfall' by the Stone Roses if we're talking 90's but it's certainly an awesome riff regardless of decade. I defy anyone to try and sit still while listening to this song, it's just not possible.
Saw them live in Prague back in the 90's, supporting The Smashing Pumpkins. They blew the roof off the arena, the crowds went nuts! Smashing Pumpkins were a let down after Reef's set! Hopefully seeing them again next year!
I heard this one on absolute radio today. Had to look it up.I knew it was reef just never heard of this one before. Don't think I would call them an indie band. Just good rock.
Saw these boys in 95' At the British Snowboard dryslpoe champs in Sheffield just before this Single broke & various times since .... Amazing Live & I'll be in the middle of the carnage tomorrow night in Nottingham, Cant Wait !
Is it me or is there a really good 70's /early 80's feel to the song...drums, guitars, vocals, erc? Live long to the people who rate this song/band ✌️👍🤙👊🤟
Enduring memory of this band..HMV in Glasgow doing an instore appearance and singing this track..the place just went nuts and everyone was bouncing up and down..you could feel the floor vibrate...nuts!..
Hi from Greece.. before buying replenish back then.. I heard someone calling them "led hot zeppi peppers" that made me by it the same week and of course it's amazing!! The whole album!!!
I 1st heard this on a TV ad (Levi's?) in the mid 90s, long before internet or ability to shazam and identify the track and that riff was imbedded in my head. Then Kerrang were introducing them as the next big british rock band and I found out it was their song. Then Kerrang gave away a mini vinyl 2 or 3 track from them, in a special edition and Naked was one of them. 14yr old me loved them ever since.
It was an ad for Sony Minidisc - they were signed for Sony Music. And here's the proof :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KDCwCtZPpUw.html&ab_channel=vhsvillage
Most people remember and elevateOasis and Blur and the other Britpop bands. Reef alongside Kulashaker were discovered and connected via Paul Weller and both were/are BritRock! Incredible bands at that time. First two albums for both bands were amazing.
RESPECT
LYRICS: Sing with me. That's is where I'm at. Hoot with me. I'd get into that. If you know where I'm at, I would get a kick from that. Muddy face, bloody hand. Naked we dance on our clothes. So will you come with me? I'll take you away Spin with me, That's is what I feel Open your arms. Release from within. If you know where I'm at. I would get a kick from that. Come the dark, Light a fire. In the rain we raise our heads So will you come with me? I'll blow you away
I'm looking for a song between the mid 90's till 2005, I always thought it was Supergrass but it's not. I only remember the end of the song with the lead signer (a young man) singing haha-haha what-a-ta and then a men choir reapeting haha-haha what-a-ta with a depper voice, thanks a lot
The answer why this epic band did not get to the level of super band is because the big labels failed them badly also keeped them low budget and under funded. Punting and continually pumping money in to the big acts and major players who this band was up against at the time. (blur oasis pulp etc etc) Every time this band toured and played out they absolutely rocked venue's. One of the greatest bands to come out of England and only let down by the pomposity of the recording industry and fat cat label boss's
Saw Reef live in about 2001, AMAZING, they really felt the songs and the atmosphere was wonderful. I wonder if it was because they have never really hit the 'Oasis' big time.
God I remember when adverts for Sony stuff, Levisham jeans and even apple products featured some amazing tunes. The 90s the 2010 era were the last best times for British mainstream music. Now it's all this rap cobblers, the aural equivalent of the colour beige.
