In this episode I share with you my lighting schedule that I’m running over my 57 gallon sps reef. I knew when i heard the intro I was gonna love this video lol. Great vid and information. I'm looking into grabbing these for my 210 gallon reef tank. Alot of videos recommend grabbing at least 8 of these for a 6 ft x 2ft aquarium but I'm gonna try 3-4 at a 14-16" height. Great vid my guy!

Looks like ur par level is spot on, never used a par meter myself, I’m running xr15’s, and finding out that lower light is just fine, Less color usually means that u have too much par, if ur happy with the colors then ur fine!!

150-250 par is perfect for most sps! Colors are looking solid and less likely to bleach new coral.

Buy some backup fans! After about a year, my fan began to fail. Other than that, its is a good light fixture. Really nice tank!

I have one over my nano in my office. It is a great light but the app is not all that good and had so many problems when having to do a firmware update. It works great if you put it on your PC had no issues once I go away from the app itself.

Yo Man! Just wanted to say dope video. Recently got a Prime 16HD for my tank and people have been saying it can't grow SPS well, but yours definitely shows different. I've been running Saxby for a little but I like the idea of yours so I'm going to try it out! Also i'm probably going to pick up a second 16hd for the shadows since i'm only running one.

Your tank looks awesome and the corals very happy. I still running Oceanrevive and my SPS are doing great but my SPS are struggling. I am sure I am giving them the right spectrum and intensity. To my eyes the light seem to get way to bright at over 15 in blue and 5 on whites. But I am waiting on my set AI Primes and hopefully the corals will respond positively. I am just gonna mimick someoneelses settings to begin with and go from there.

Thank you. I’ve heard of a few reefers that have had great success with oceanrevives and sps. I can’t say that the primes are better or worse but for sure you’ll see a difference. Let me know how they workout for you.

@@jsreefs5576 well I have them now. 2 AI Prime 16 HD along with the Aqualife T5 hybrid fixture. I am struggling in setting the right spectrum. My SPS look like poop :( My No is 0.5, Po 0.02, Ca 430, Kh 8.5. The SPS are not showing any growth. The LPS are doing OK.

Nice. Primes definitely grow coral. Probably would have been fine with two lights but there's is three on the tank so more than enough light.

Dude.....amazing vid.....ooo men I wish the people in the LFS to be like you...I am new to the hobby and I have everything for my reef except lightning and I am struggling what should I buy and you answer my question, but how many will I need for my tank (tank dimension are 120 long, 50 high and 50 deep this is in centimeters) and I am planing to have mostly softies and some LPS cuz I thing I am not ready yet to jump to SPS and I like to see lots of movement in the tank. Thanks a lot! Sounds like you got yourself a nice size tank there. Based on the examples that BRS gave, if you’re only doing softies and LPS I think 2 would get the job done but 3 would be ideal. If it were me I would do 6 but of course I’d be doing sps! Lol! Good look on your new setup! ✌️

Hello .. Interesting video. I have some questions 1. Do not believe algae have white light in 50%. 2. Will UV light above 100% not harm the Zoas or some other coral? 3. How do you manage to have the sand so clean? regards

Thanks for your questions. 1. I only see signs of algae issues when I over feed the fish for a few days in a row. Usually when I introduce new fish. 2. From my experience my Zoas are doing fine and I have not seen any stress signs from any of my other corals. 3. I have a ton of sand sifting clean up crew members that are constantly stirring the sand. So far so good! 👌

That is so nice the way you arranged the light to mimic the sun's path. 👏 I have an AI 32 light over my 29 gallon and I am trying to get my plated coral to grow. By the way yours are beautiful! I am slowly increasing light 10% weekly. I'm afraid to increase too fast and hurt them. The light is running at 66 %. Going to take a long time for me to get to your light percentage though😰.

I'm a new sub to your channel and I like what you are filming. You mentioned in a different video you got a yellow tailed Tamarin wrasse so how is that fish doing? I love your corals, I wish my digital looked as good as yours. Your bubblegum is amazing.

Thanks! My yellow tail tamarin is doing fine. It took a little to get him eating but once he started he quickly became a champ. I’ve found with these guys it’s usually a good idea to treat for internal parasites right from the start. 👍

I was on the fence between this light and the A80, because of this video I bought this light. I plan on trying to figure out how to download your lighting schedule as well once I get the tank all set. I will have to come back after I get the light and tank dialed in and give an update. Hello. I’m a new subscriber. I just purchased this light for a 25 gal tank. I’m having a hard time setting this up. It’s confusing. Moonlight is brighter than expected. I expected all blues. Not sure if I’m doing right. Can I please get your lighting schedule? Also what do you have your different lights set at? I want to compare. Your tank is beautiful and I’m jealous.

Beautiful color! Are you filming with a special lens? I have a nuvo 20 with only 41/2 inches of clearance above for lights. Do you think these would be usable? I am afraid of crazy hot spot then low par in other areas. The brs videos show that when they mount 6 inches above so basically renders the top ok for sps but areas around to low for lps! I could gat fluval strip lights 2 of them, they have violet that current dosnt but dont think I will get this kind of color pop! I am clueless! What do you think? You tank looks amazing!

Thanks! I think 2 would work depending on your scape and how high you mount them. I ran 2 for a while and everything looked fine. I added the 3rd light to help with shadowing by my lights are only 10 inches from the surface.

WTF! Yo your reef looks sick! 😫 I'm gonna have to look into what you're saying about lower par. I think mine is all F'd up. Maybe not too much. I am using a modified ab+ at I think at 40 or 45 % . I have a par meter just procrastinating on taking a reading. How is the alternating intensity beneficial to the reef or what is the effect or intention? 🤔

hi I have the same lights as you and I have 3, I have downloaded your lighting schedule thanks, when you say you have your lights programmed independantly so the white light moves from each light how did you do it ? I have now set mine up independently so do I use the lighting schedule you gave on each light

You can adjust the schedule so that they each start 30 minutes or an hour after the other. From the schedule screen if you put two fingers and drag left or right you can move the entire schedule.

Sorry one more question. What are you using on top of your tank and does it affect the lighting? I have 2 inside dogs and they shed pretty bad in summer. Even though I constantly clean, the hair settles on everything and I dont want it in my tank! So Im trying to figure out something to cover the top that doesnt affect my lights. Maybe plexiglass? I know salt will form on it but I will just need to clean it daily.

I used a bulk reef supply screen kit. I’m not sure how well the plexiglass will work. Doesn’t leave much room for gas exchange which is beneficial for your PH levels.

I have the same 57 gal tank, do you think a tang would be okay? Also great idea tilting the lights like you did

These tanks have a great footprint. I actually have 3 very small juvenile tangs in my reef with no aggression. I introduced all three at the same time and made sure each had they’re own space to sleep. I have plans to hopefully upgrade before they outgrow the tank. We’ll see how it goes! Lol!

So I made an account on the app but I don’t have my light yet so when I plug it to the wall the app would get connection to the light and what does the stand called that you have and your tank is nice

I just got my 4 AI primes in yesterday. This video is good. Do you know if there is a limit to how many Child lights you can have to a parent light? When I selected one as a parent it only offered me two other as a child, and I had to make the 4th one a parent light. Not a real big deal, but would have like to have had one parent and 3 child lights

I’m not to sure since I run all of my in parent mode. I can’t imagine 3 would be the limit. Probably something that you can change during the initial setup. I’d reach out to Ai.

Geat color pop! I have been considering radions all along beacuse I was blwon away by my lfs and I thought he used radions so I called him and he said he used these! Have you ever considered or used radions? Do you think these give more color pop? The thing is I have a 36 gallon bowfront which is 30 x 17 at the widest p;art of the bow but 13 I think on the ends. Since radion dosnt make anything smaller than 90 watts, i think 2 is to much and one not enough. Do you think 2 of these will work. Its also about 20 inches tall. Or maybe one hydra 32 with a t5 hybrid. I usually see a lot of shadows and disco so I thought t5 combined would be great but would have to build a canopy!
