Very true. Don’t beat yourself up over TSA corals, their pictures are very misleading. Over saturated, actinic pictures, filtered and photo shopped. So much so that their white plugs are almost purple. Saw their corals at their booth at Reefstock and their acros looked no better than yours when it comes to coloration. I like a more honest approach like Tidal Gardens who shows you what color the coral really are, especially during their live sales.
Damn Bob I feel targeted when you were talking about you know there’s some of you 👀 that don’t test and just guess …. Well dammit that’s me lmao 🤣🤦♂️ you are totally right about that I am starting to test more often and tried to keep everything stable .
Bob so it’s okay to dose nitrate and phosphate to where you want It? That kind of fluctuations won’t stress it out? Since you say you dose to bring phosphate to .04 and nitrate to 4 from 0?
Yeah I would still recommend that you do it slowly over the coarse of a week or 2 but your tank will be far better off in the long run with slightly elevated nutrients
@@aquaticbobs my tank is going through the same thing, nutrients bottomed out, so I’ve been raising the nitrate slowly. So when I watched this video, I didn’t if I should dose slowly for all at once. So thank you for replying. Really enjoying all your video !
@@aquaticbobs quick update, my corals is not doing well I raise the nitrate and phosphate slowly, now my nitrate is 3.8 and phosphate is .03 and my sps is not responding well, look like the skin on the sps looks dry or gone, it’s not RTN or STN
Try running your skimmer for 12 hours instead of 24 hours. Thats what I ended up doing and its working great so far, at not bottoming out my nutrients.
I put a hob uv sterilizer on my 15 g to try and get rid of my Dino as a last ditch effort. I also added some macro algae to the display. So far the Dino’s arnt coming back as fast I’m hoping and praying this finally works ! I just don’t know how long to keep the UV treatment going for 🤔
I have battled zero’s in my tank since I set it up. Phosphates have alway been zeros and my nitrate range from 0-5. I have been battling this green almost carpet type of algae on the substrate. It also traps detritus and release bubbles. I don’t know if it’s Dino or Cyano, but it’s to the point I might just tear it down and start over
@@aquaticbobs I have tried dosing phosphate and the green get worse. Maybe it need to get worse before it better. I have also dosed phyto and Red Sea AB PLUS.
@@aquaticbobs I think I am going to try and run my skimmer less. I have 6 fish total in a 100 gallon tank. Tons of live rock and a few LPS CORALS. lost a lot of coral during the big freeze in Texas some time ago, but I am loosing more from the green take over.
my nitrates are sky high at 80ppm lately so i let my sump light run 24/7. i consider that light on the cheato to be the "engine" of consumption. once my nitrates get down to 5ppm. i just have the sump light on at night.
Dude you think you feed alot I feed reef roids coral ab+ and more brightwell amino with frozen and nyos pods everyday plus 2 more meals of dryfood and pods everyday and my po4 and no3 are always so low I finally got to po4 to .04 and my no3 to 3 and before that it was 0s for both and all I have is a 65g with fleece roller and skimmer and I test every week if not twice. I just can't bring my self to dose no3 and po4 I just think it will be too much. And give me a gnarly alge break out.
16:41 drives me KIYOHARAA.Uno have that curvy body. You did a good job modeling it too. Also like the last outfit 20:11.... Love how the gartern belts connect to the stockings and sheer top
