It was limited edition, the cage and body panels are machined from solid blocks of aluminum. For collectors it is worth that price if you see one for sale you’ll see how much they go for. Personally I think they are awesome but couldn’t see my self spending that much or wanting to actually drive it

The ripper is like some weird macho RC flex thing. Its not worth the price people pay for them. Its not even that capable for crawling and sitting on a 10 year old Axial chassis.

I saw soooo many expensive rigs at BTC and a bunch of super "technical" drivers. Who couldnt climb half the terrain my old ragged out Gen8 with an overdiven front diff and some brass on 2.2s could. Thougnt it was pretty funny. For $14-16k just buy a used 1:1 scale and go hit the trails.

This this is pretty amazing as far as engineering and machining go. The cage is machined from a 100lb solid aluminum block. The body panels are machined from solid aluminum. There is a reason that Vanquish sold so few, and they were only made to order. They were around $2k new, but with rarity and a name like Vanquish, the second hand market is insane.

Its was only sold to RC enthusiasts. It was never available to the general public. Its terrible at crawling also. Only someone with a weird RC ego would spend that much money for a heavy outdated rig that cant perform.

The vanquish products ripper was $1899.99. It was all handmade and only available in very small numbers. That price did not include axles driveshafts electronics wheels and tires. It was another $1500+ to build it all VP. Lately they have been selling on the second market believe it or not for $10-$12,000.

Ok I know the Ripper is rare, CNC'ed everything and Vanquish everything else but even if I had $15,000 to spend on a RC I would Custom build my own because I rather build my own. It's definitely cool but I like the Comp Wagon better because that is my style of Rig. If I won the Lottery, I'm the Redneck that would pull up to the fancy restaurant in a mud covered Dodge Power Wagon blasting Death Metal with 3 or 4 AR's in racks behind the seats. Awesome video as always 🤘🏼 🤘🏼

Crazy pricing. Thereis demand for such rigs, as seen by the RC Speedy chassis success. Have you ever reviewdd the TFL tube chassis Unicorn or Bronco? I haven't seen much on them other than they are heavy.

Everything I've seen on the TFL Bronco is that the axle shafts are made of glass and it's a bit awkward to work on. Definitely worth seeing another take on though!

Am man build a decmt 1:1 budget rock crawler for 14k. The ripper is certainly a unique rig and very hard to find but there is zero performance gained after 4k id say. You can build anything for 4 to 5k including many custom titanium parts built parts. I suppose you could use solid gold instead of brass.

I never heard the name Vanquish in regards to the manufacturer of this truck. Seems to be described as a Reef’s product. Can you elaborate a bit? Looks cool! Second hand pricing - if you can buy it at $14k and sell it back if needed at that or more - then technically it’s a heck of a deal since most every single other RC loses value immediately. It’s like Rolex - I buy them new at retail whenever I can. People say it’s extravagant etc etc. But I don’t own a single one (I’m specific on models) that, even though I wear them daily, isn’t worth more than what I paid. So, again, not a bad deal. BUT - I suspect secondary value will drop on these, as the technology becomes outdated. That’s the difference. Anything with constantly evolving tech is guaranteed to depreciate. BUT, AGAIN, ha, in the short term it could be a lot of fun. If ya have the cash - Buy it and enjoy it for a summer or so then sell before value drops. :)
