This is so precious. I love watching Elliot Randall play his old tunes because he always looks like he's having the time of this life. A real life goal. And watching Keith Carlock do anything is a masterclass in excellence.
Absolutely agree! Love watching Elliot having such a great time on that stage. Plus, he still has his Awesome chops! One of the Greatest guitar solos of All-time!
He jammed once in 1973 with my band DBD (Dead Brandy Dog) one night at the infamous "Red Rail" in Nanuet, NY. Besides his stellar playing he was one of nicest and happiest musicians I've ever had the pleasure to play with,

Odd. I was honestly thinking that I wasn't feeling his groove on this song. He's obviously a really good drummer but I didn't like this song. In fact, I've never really seen anyone play it that well live. It's an odd beat.
Its about time somebody will write a song about what happened with great songs/ music. Those who laid the foundation for rock music are reaching an age they will slowly disappear and will only be remembered for the joy they gave to a generation growing up.
I had the privilege of being 3 rows back at Wembley that night - what a sublime experience. One of the best gigs of my life. So good to see Elliott Randall guesting, but a special mention for Keith Carlock who was from another planet entirely.
I was not sure whether or not SD’s touring guitarist John Herrington could smile and provide a solo that was more than half copy and half robotic. Randall’s infectious joy (see his other live performances) not only put a sincere smile on Herrington’s face, but it forced him to play off-script. Here Herrington plays with more heart than I’ve seen him do before… and he is smiling. Yeah, a rock and roll drum solo for the ages at the end.
I was there that evening at Wembley Arena. I flew from Lisbon on purpose just to watch that concert. And I'm telling you it was worth every penny and every minute. Awesome concert, breathtaking! Greetings from Portugal.
Well this made my day !! Way cool ! Saw the band live a few years back and solo shows with Jon and Keith in his own show ...whoooo hooooo these guys rock !!
I watched this for Elliott but am always amazed by Carlock. I've seen SD at least 15 times first time I saw Carlock I said this is the best drummer on the Planet. He stole the show, next time I saw them Walter introduced Carlock as the best fucking drummer in the world. They are so damn good live.
Watch early live videos of this song. Skunk Baxter (no slouch-love his work on My Old School) can’t come close to duplicating Randall’s sound, which of course Randall pulls off just fine here.
Well they hardly ever played live shows, so you get a bit amped up doing a live show. Almost all live versions of any song by any one is typically faster
