Exactly not to mention a lot of these women seem to have kids.... And that laundry shit looks like candy to a kid! The stupidity of our species never ceases to disappoint me
Yeah that's what I thought... What's the point of all the pretty glass jars if you're just buying all your shit in plastic anyway. Just keep it in the original container.
I appreciate the ones where it’s just them keeping their drawers and fridge organized without unnecessarily putting all the food and products in new containers.
Fair warning for those who want to replicate some of these aesthetics- cleaning products and some food items are often sold in opaque or dark packaging because sunlight can breakdown some of the useful compounds. Use like for like- dark or opaque containers unless it already comes in a clear container.
I would like to do this with some kind of food like the cheese, my mom bought a cheese with a paper packaging and the cheese gets bad in days, but the other things, yes i would buy things without containers for this
as an asian, i can never understand why americans need so much stuff and literally so many containers instead of using the ones in which the products come in
I'm German, but I do the same thing (with much less stuff, because my fridge is like half the size at best). I do it, because it saves space in my pantry plus my husband has a Form of autism and he's uncomfortable with to may different colors and shapes of packaging. Other people may do it for the aestetics.
I re-use my plastics to make models like Studson Studios on YT or other art projects. That was I'm not put out as much plastic trash. Keurigs are so wasteful IMO.
@@sussybakagrr lol what do you think is more waste full? Buying home a product and reuse the packaging or buying a product and another container for it just to throw away the packaging that the product originally came in ?
it’d be so much more aesthetic if people like this took their cutesy containers into a bulk store and refilled them without all the waste. some of the laundry stuff may be hard to come by in that sense, but food products like juices, grains, seasonings, oils, nut butters are all easy to find as bulk items where you take what you need without so much trash.
some do actually, and you see plastic boxes on video because its easier to refill a plastic container than take 20 glass ones, but not many places have refill shops unfortunatelly
@@andie9179 sometimes they’re hard to come by, but i know some grocery stores that have smaller bulk sections where they just sell dry beans, grains, coffee, and other snacks in bulk where i live. even if it’s just food that you bring your own containers to fill up, it really makes a difference in waste. I live in California so I have access to places such as Sprouts, Whole Foods, Smart and Final, etc. But you can always just search up “bulk bin stores near me”. If you have the benefit of being able to access stores such as these or other bulk stores, you can start by weighing the container you need to fill and label it with that weight so you can subtract that amount from the cost when you fill it up. if you don’t, you can make smaller changes outside of your home. like when buying groceries, bring your own bags to separate items or don’t bag your fruit and vegetables at all, and avoid buying pre-bagged items. and bringing your own bags to load at the end of trip really helps. Try getting items packaged with paper, aluminum, or glass (easy to recycle). and although it can be tedious, you can try to find products sourced more locally, because even if it’s packaged in plastic, it took a lot less waste to get to the store. farmer’s markets are also really helpful! i understand not everyone is lucky enough to have access to bulk stores, especially bulk stores that sell detergent or other cleaning and household products. one small thing i’ve done lately to try and reduce my footprint is just simply not grabbing a bag to put fruit or veggies in. i just grab them from the pile, as many as i need, and put them in my cart as they are. and i reuse plastic bags for trash cans as well as paper bags, or sometimes i’ll just take them back to the store and use them again.
I love these vids and they’re all pretty + aesthetic, but I always feel like they’re so close to being more environmentally friendly. They have all these reusable containers for stuff but waste so much plastic still
@@diorhasmyheart I think they’re saying that if you’re going to get the glass container, you might as well buy plastic free packaging or go to a store that sells products that you can put in your own containers.
what do they do with the excess? just hide it somewhere and pretend they don’t have it because it isn’t aesthetic enough? or do they like throw it away lol
But also my mom usually puts things in containers like this to make it more accessible to everyone and she keeps everything to refill so they probably keep it
can't stop thinking that putting all soaps together like that and right next to the bathtub/shower is just gonna make them melt right away when putting the soap back in the container
I think for that one it's more of a, you take out one bar and keep it out of the jar until it's gone, then get a new one. Instead of having to search for a new bar of soap each time it runs out.
But still...who uses soap that often that they need to regularly refill their giant glass of soap bars? Did I miss something, is this normal? Where does the soap go...?
These videos are calming and aesthetically pleasing. I feel that this doesn’t change the amount of waste though. I feel if you were to do this but buy in larger amounts/bulk it could make a little bit less waste.
Came here to say the same thing so many have echoed before- these videos are so relaxing but at the same time so depressing. The amount of plastic waste we generate is insane (particularly for those who buy tons of "small" items instead of buying in large, bulk containers.
I'm a university student. In order not to be a burden to my family, I started uploading videos to RU-vid. Even if 4-5 people among this many people subscribe, it gives courage and morale. Thank you.
My question is how would you know what the expiration date is when you cant see it, and don’t put the expiration date label on the container? Like we aren’t gonna remember every expiration date. We also aren’t gonna wait for the mood to appear, we need to know before there is mold. (Edit: yes i know that some write the expiration date on the container but still) (edit 2: thank you for the likes!!)
In one, I saw them put a sticker of the expiration date on the container. I thought that was pretty smart! Alternatively if you would want to try this yourself, you could add a blackboard sticker and write it down with chalk each time you refill
it depends for people, honestly i almost never check the expiration date because i always make sure to buy things with the farthest expiration date and don't buy too much so i know most of the time the things are still good and eaten in the right time! and if i know that i kept something for quit a long time, just give it a look or a smell tbh. expirations date are just a kind of warning, you can still eat something 3 to 18 month later if you dont see any mold or anything, the worst you can get is getting a lil sick, nothing much!
I think doing something like this is reasonable for most people, and them posting it helps a lot of people relax. Sure there are some flaws to this method, but I don't understand why there is so much hate.
Because a lot of it is very wasteful. Not just the materials for the jars and stuff, but a lot of things like oil, spices and laundry stuff is going to spoil insanely fast when exposed to light.
I agree I think it’s really nice and tidy! But what do they do with those tiny leftovers? Hide it so they don’t ruin the vibe or chuck it? I hope they don’t chuck it..
To all mothers out there, just remember your enough and you are so amazing. You don’t have to be like all of these other moms who have everything organized because I bet nothing is organized in reality. You are the best mom that and mother can be and don’t underestimate yourself because you truly are amazing and I bet that your kids love you very very much and remember, your.enough.❤
The scent boosters kill me every time. Those bottles are close to $15 where I live, and they're putting 4-5 bottles in a jar. I might understand if they were stain removers or something as well, but it's just for fragrance. Get a scented detergent and save your money!
Tip!: If you’re not going to eat all the strawberries in one hit, dont wash all of them! Only wash the ones you are going to eat straight away. They keep for longer if you dont wash them all! 🍓
This gave me a few organizing ideas but the sloppiness to rush the presentation reeked of desperation. Also, there were many times the full quantity didn't fit in the container the person was using and so now they have two things filled with the same item taking up space (and not talking about where the container is meant to intentionally hold a small amount either). I understand taller glasses for liquids to take up less space but if the full amount doesn't fit, that's a failed objective
I really love this. So organized and aesthetically pleasing. Also less weird shaped packages that don’t fit other packages. I’d love to have this for my fridge.
I showed this to my wife, as she does this for certain things like spices, portion control for things like large amounts of beef and chicken breasts from the store when its just the two of us, etc. but like, dear god. Things going from a perfectly good box to a clear, glass container for no other reason than it looks nice. But realistically, this actually takes more time and energy than it needs to for the sake of pretty things. In all honesty, im surprised that products don't just come in a glass container with a removable cardboard insert for a label in the store, so people don't have to spend hours to reinsert items from one container to another. Like the one lady where the soda labels all had to face the same way. It's an orange fanta can, love, are you afraid that you will forget what pop you got in the fridge? XD
No, some of it can be for mental reasons. I know this kind of stuff makes me actually want to clean, knowing I can make things all pretty. And it reduces boxy big clutter, which drives me crazy. And I always make sure the soda labels are facing the same direction. It’s irrational but it makes me feel nice. It’s really all about what the person wants in their house. Not really what other people see as beneficial. If they want it in their house they can do it :)
The farthest I'll go with this organization thing is putting stuff like Cereals and pastas in different containers, but that's it. Who seriously needs that much of those little laundry pellets that make things smell good or whatever they are. That is a huge container for something like that
As long as they’re recycling all the empty containers I don’t see why people are complaining? Personally when things are organized like this is gives me a sense of calm and order.
@@xhuli_0082 I'm living zero waste, so no not the same for me and even if you don't live zero waste you can make a big difference by reducing your single plastic use
cleaner visual look, no cluttering because of different sized containers, know how much you have left of a product, maintaining freshness, making things easier/cleaner to grab, you feel more accomplished doing a lil thing like this. MANY reasons to be doing a this kind of thing, yes of course it can always be better and more zero waste but it really depends on where you live/what you have time for, plus these women are just enjoying their lives and want to make some tiny aspects of their life more pretty for fun!! let them. everyone is so salty in the comments and like what, literally no one is perfect. be mad at big companies for contributing to the plastic waste in the world, not individuals just wanting their food/laundry items to look just a little prettier in a messy and shitty world.
Right, every top comment is salty angry people, I don't understand. for me, organizing is fun, I would totally do that because for me it is fun and makes living alone more fun because you can "customize" everything and organize it the way it works best for you.
One thing I can't get out of my head is how expensive buying SO MANY pop containers and glass jars (ESPECIALLY lidded ones) is. I've looked into it before because I like some aspects of this organization but it's soooo expensive
For someone with ADD I find pleasure in doing these things and the extra is put nicely in the basement an a organized pantry (new items put in back of organized line of items and old is in the front to always be used first and it doesnt expire). It helps me use everything and not waste anything at all. Plus clear plastic container is easily spotted in any place because in my brain as I'm sure other ADD or people without it would think ( if it's out of sight it's out of mind) The clear containers help me see quickly what I am running low on and what I have plenty of and not buy more of that. Hope it helps someone
There’s a reason good quality oils come in tinted bottles…light degrades the oils. She was literally pouring it out of a nice tinted bottle into one that had old oil 😭
I love these videos I like when it's less if an aesthetic only kinda drive behind doing these things especially I but bulk so I use jars and containers because of that The only time I'm putting juice or tea in a container is if I make it myself (which I do because it's cheaper) Still working on mastering storing fruits and vegetables so they last longer, mostly because I want to grow my own when I have the space and don't want a lot of waste
I love how organised they are! It makes me feel fresh. I do get how most of you don’t see the point though I think its to be aesthetic and to be extremely organised. In my opinion its cool how organised you can be. If I wanted to be organised i wouldn’t do this i would just organise the things in there normal containers but Like into sections. But I have to admit there are satisfying to watch. And I’m not American lol-
Its crazy that people complain about how people organize their own space. They dont hurt anybody. Everyone has their reason. I do it because it saves my food from moths, and some containers are just too bulky so it saves a lot of space. Do what fits your livestyle! It doesnt matter if your asian american european african or whatever
@@abcdefghifkl it's probably not extra virgin then, extra virgin olive oil is the purest form and more expensive so it's usually store in dark colored glass so it lasts longer
Oh I love York peppermint patty.I had those so often when I took change from my buildings shop for laundry.Like what’s also featured here as product restocking asmr.
Love the aesthetic! Also, storing citrus in the fridge is a solid no no. It's grown in warmer climates, cold causes it to spoil much faster. Just a thought
This is SO relaxing to watch but to consider actually doing all this makes me anxious and overwhelmed af. Kudos to you, this is brilliant though. Also, can I just pay you to do this for me? It would bring me so much comfort to live in such a well organized home that I didn't feel so much pressure to keep up with it. I love clean things but hate cleaning like why tf is that a thing?! 😅😳😖
yesss I thought I was the only one. no one needs that much food. these fridges look like they could feed a village so unless these people have like 4 kids, this is such a waste :')
I don’t get everyone complaining about the plastic. Unfortunately the items are gonna come in the same packaging whether you pour them out into new containers or not. It’s the same amount of plastic being used regardless….
There is a massive issue here with the massive number of single-serve products. Buying 10 individually packaged single serve drink items instead of 1 larger drink container, for example. Which in turn has an effect on taking up more room when being shipped, which produces more fuel emissions, etc. Recycling plastic is not a 100% effective endeavour either. The vast majority of virgin plastic produced is not recycled.
I kinda like the aesthetic behind all this, I have to admit that. But if I already have all those glass containers, I would probably just go to one of the zero waste shops to refill them in the shop, without all the waste of the packaging.
Just because something says flushable it doesn't mean it should be. It can still block drains and sewers. So much plastic being emptied here. Hope it gets recycled
It’s not wasteful….. Some of us find it very meditative to organize like this. It can also just make me feel so much calmer to see and use the products in nice/organized containers.
The great thing about making videos about restocking food or laundry or whatever is that you can rewatch the video and figure out where you set some stuff in case you lost it
I think the second one is the most reasonable, they didn't put the milk/juice in glass container and having to also keep the excess in the og container.
For all those people asking yes some of the products are in containers but it keeps things organized and neat and the others keep things fresh and having containers will really help if you have a lot of things in your fridge like those eggs it would be a total help to have a small container that can hold a dozen eggs so yes the containers are necessary and no there not all for aesthetic.
Yes but some products come in specific containers for a reason. Some safety and some chemicals and oils are supposed to be kept in dark bottles because they’re light sensitive.
now this is what i call AESTHETIC, this is really pleasing to watch, its a good idea to put everything in containers. 🫙 when i’m old enough to own a house i am DEFINITELY gonna do this! (refill all containers aesthetically, have everything in my fridge so neat and pleasing) its just so satisfying to look at!! 😆🤙🏽👏🏼
