Yeah, you're right. Some of the larger pieces took a very long time and I think I still had a bit of silver or base metals left in the gold. Gold prospecting is this weird and interesting experience. That's why I enjoy it so much. Thanks! -- Dave

:-) Yeah, it's magic how I made that gold and silver disappear. I recovered the silver by cementing it on copper and melting it into a bead, and the gold, I hope, is still in the fluid. I'm making standard solutions of known gold concentrations to be able to better quantify the amount of gold from ore samples, using SnCl2. Yes, it will become a series in the sense that I'll use the standard solutions to estimate gold concentrations in the ore, or at least that's the plan of the day. If it's not useful then I'll recover the gold and make a little bead. It's an enjoyable hobby. Thanks for the comment! -- Dave

@Orophilia Focus on best gold standards with excellent lab preparation... no spills or poor pipette. Maybe only 4 standards for field assay enough. I use 34.25 ppm gold = 1 troyoz/short ton ore. Good luck.
