I ran into a host of issues with this dresser set, including water ring damage and scratches, a missing drawer glide, and wood tannin bleedthrough. However, I learned so many lessons and love how the set turned out. I hope you do, too.

As someone who just started restoring furniture I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you including all the little missteps along the way-so very helpful! You are a very “real” person and that is so refreshing. I loved the family interactions as well. And the best part-the furniture is absolutely GORGEOUS!! You did an amazing job and your tenacity and perfectionism really paid off! Thank you!! 😊

Thank you so much! I love hearing this! RU-vid is where I have learned most everything I have about working on furniture, and passing that knowledge along was one of my big hopes with starting to share videos on here. I’m also hoping to keep it as real as possible bc we’re all trying our best and learning as we go. Your comment is so encouraging to me in many ways - thank you for taking the time to share that!!

Beautiful job! Your attention to detail is first class. It’s frustrating when you have to redo things, but you persevered and the quality shows. Nothing wrong with painting furniture, these aren’t priceless antiques. If you use a seal coat of shellac or lacquer before you paint, it can make it easier for the next restorer to remove it in the future if they want to. Great video 👍

Thank you so much! It surely was frustrating, but I am grateful to finally be finished and am happy with how it turned out. I appreciate you noticing and complimenting my attention to detail. It’s something I strive for. My parents taught me well there.😀

Paused the video for a moment at the time when your child is wanting some attention. i am so impressed with your parenting skills, good for you in letting her/him be heard, not getting overly frustrated and just being exceptional. It’s a high tension time when recording and having kids can sometimes be a problem but you did so great and I enjoyed hearing that small little voice, so adorable. Anyway just wanted to say you get the gold star for dealing with interruptions well!

Thank you, Kim. That’s very kind of you. While I am far from perfect on being patient with their interruptions, I try my best to be mom first and not let this fun hobby of mine get in the way too much of that. I appreciate your encouragement.💜

I was just so ready to have it be finished at the end that I just put my head down to finish it. I literally just finished and listed it this week. I have it listed for $1,500 bc I’ve seen sets like this well for at least that on Etsy. I just started my Etsy shop so we will see how it does. I’ve only listed it locally right now tho. 10/10 for effort. You need to get the prep right . Grain filling and then a primer like Zinsser Bin. Follow the paint manufactures re coat times and dont short them. Ex furniture refinisher /restorer. Good preparation will pay dividends.
