#DidYouKnow: Sound travels slower through air than by water. In fact, the speed of sound via water is 4.3 times faster than by air. However, sound does travel far faster through steel than both air and water. To access all videos Sound, enrol in our full course now: bit.ly/SoundG9 To watch more Physics videos, click here: bit.ly/PhysicsVideos_DMYT

yeah in water, the molecules are more closely packed whereas in steel, the particles are more closer, making the vibrations of sound travel faster than water and air

Waves don't enter a wall because they are good reflectors of sound. While some substances such as woollen clothes, thread etc. These are the bad reflectors of the sound so they cannot allow the light to pass through it. They are good absorbers of sound.

Given resonance distance of a sound wave is 75 feet. It has been noted that various pundits give contradictory figures. The 75 feet can be checked by stretching a string 75 feet and plucking it. Lengthening the string results in a weaker and slower sequence of clicks.

why don't wave enters into the wall.
@srinuvaddadhi6784
@srinuvaddadhi6784 5 лет назад
Because wall is an opaque object
@amnaraza7388
@amnaraza7388 4 года назад
wave transfers some of its energy to wall but the wall cannot move up and down like a wave as it is denser than the medium in which sound is travelling (air) thus the wall exerts a backward force on the wave causing the wave to reflect back at 180 degrees or pie radians.
