I love singing this hymn. The best reflection ever..uplifting indeed and reminding me that I am not my own but I am HIS. Father God thank you for my life. I am blessed to be your child.
It's a hymn, Chris. There was an old pastor at the church I grew up in. He was from the South and his father had been a peach farmer. Anyway, it was his favorite hymn. I was young... something less than 10 or 11 but already becoming a toughened up "atheist" ("no rules" / "no fear") but I still LISTENED to this man. His spirit was full of warmth, kindness and he knew what love was and why. So, even though he was a small - townies fellow, pastoring in the big city, this hymn was sung REGULARLY until he retired. Certainly didn't hurt any of us, did it? 😉
