This is so awesome. Vo0 is such a cool guy. And I had the pleasure of playing against him in a Reflex duel tournament and holy shit is he good. Mind blowing-ly good.
Man my homie Vo0. I got to meet him on quake2 back in the day and hung out with him and his clanmates for years in irc. He surely remembers me (daized). Glad to see this and see hes become a legend in the community.
i think rat and koddy are also worth remembering, but ye i think gaiia is the best imo but very biased since i never saw rat or koddy in cpm during their most active days
Am a huge fan of Vo0 but jesus dude stop worrying about who you beat and lose to. You are better than anyone if you just learn the game like you did pk. You were by far the best player in pk and had an off tournament at the final, sure, but just write a new page to the Vo0 story. Youre up there with toxjq and cooller as best afps player of all time in my books!
Voo was a nice fella. I caught him while he was in the middle massive break and we had a few competitive games. Managed to win a few against him. Then Toxic joined the server and I lost 30-0 twice in a row. Bubble was burst.
Amazing stuff right there. Thanks for the itw. Might wanna try and itw Cooller sometimes? About CPMA I think what ruined it's appeal was everything was too extreme in it. I mean you have massive air control, which is very hard to master, but you also had fast weapon switch. The game was much faster due to higher ground acceleration too. Weirdly enough in QC I can play with CPM champions fine, but I am super bad at Q3/QL's CPM movement game type.
Reflections with Stelam would be so fucking interesting. I followed his career from the very start Q3 back in like 2000 or sth. would be very interested in what type of a guy he is and what anecdotes he has to tell. I remember watching his demos that he was very methodical. disciplined and careful. In retrospect I guess you could say he played very "German" :D
Does anybody remember when he was talking about a weapon in some game that's very slow and arching that he was bad at using, but one particular person was really good with it? I don't feel like watching the whole thing again...
