@@ArielShootsClips not really... the way a red dot's optics works is no matter where in the lens the dot is, it is still going to shoot at where the dot masks. That requires a parabolic reflective surface which a flat peice of plastic isnt, nor is it really feasible to shape it into a parabola. Then you also get into issues of adjustments, which he never built in. Edit, spelling
Gonna make one outta acrylic and wood, how do you sight it in though? Doesnt seem to be adjustable, unless you adjust the whole sight to point in the right direction Edit: nevermind, i can probably shim it till it matches the laser bore sight
definetly... but please dont forget to point it to yourself so it would be good for the rest of the world... (please dont take this serious it’s just a joke)
Just a suggestion, you can add an on/off switch by creating a sliding plate similar to the shape of the number 6 that can go in between the battery. But that's how I think I would make it. Edit: corrections
+Selfmade I started a tato, corn, and mutfruit farm on my settlement, harvested the crap out of those, then made them into vegetable starch at the cooking station. 5 Adhesive/ea.
+Selfmade Hahah yeah, you're talking to a guy who's put over 26 hours into the game and hasn't even hit Diamond City yet lol. I may or may not be having way too much fun with the settlements.
Nuke-A-Nizer could not see why I would put a Nintendo switch in my reflex sight but I took the advice any way and I was playing Mario cart on the air soft field and got a permanent ban so thank you
And elevation adjustment too, not gonna make this for my airgun any time soon before I can figure out putting a dovetail mount on it and stuff. Switch is trivial, the adjustment stuff isn't as much.
Of course not :< I treat it like a raw egg. I just throw pens and tools across the table, then get upset because I cant find them. Every man needs a hobby :
Los militares: bueno acabamos de gastar 1 millon de dolares en miras reflex para los soldados este tipo: hago una mira reflex con un CD viejo The military: well we just spent 1 million dollars on reflex sights for the soldiers this guy: I do a reflex sight with an old CD
Wont work that well even in airsoft gun. Reflex red dot sights like this use lens to keep dot on target, even if your viewing angle chances. In this there is only cd case plastic that is not optically suitable/sanded, or bent for that. So no it wont work on anything that requires accuracy when shooting. For prop or decoration this works well.
i tried it and you could if you have a microbit make a simple code to light a few leds up and place a cut up square piece of the cd case a bit infront and tilt it around and boom
a magnificent build, this really sorts out the binds i'm in since you wouldn't believe of much i'd get charged for one, and this would do just fine. Thanks for the share!
cos play? I put this on my AR-15 my, and my 9MM...that's something a democrat would say lol "its good for mounting on toy guns for cosplay"... everyone around you looks at each other like wtf did he just say….YOUR HILARIOUS ...you must be that type of guy that when a restraunt ask you if you want ketchup with your fries you say no thank you but I'll take some for my mash potatoes.
-.- made from an old CD case....what did you expect? And dont say CALM DOWN....your comment is kinda weird...somebody has to tell you. Disappointed or something.
What would a good material to use as a screen protector on this? I'm going to be using this in airsoft and I don't want to get it shot out. The video was awesome though, takes some serious creativity to come up with this.
This is nice for cosplay, but the point of a Reflex sight is that the reticle visible through the lens is positioned as if it were infinitely far away. That's what makes them useful. The dot in this appears 3 inches in front of the lens. That's not even as far as the end of the barrel. You'll never get any sort of accuracy with a setup like this.
Short of wiggling it around before the glue dries, you'd have to make it thinner and make a bracket that could be adjusted by turning a vertical and horizontal screw, or turning and tilting the whole thing when you mount it. As for mounting, I could see putting one of these on a home made gun, so I'd drill holes in the actual gun or make a frame that clamps them together. I'd make the thing out of metal instead of plastic though ...
Uuugh. This is a (replica) SIGHT not a SCOPE. Parallax is only an issue w/optics that have magnification. Not red-dots, holo's or reflex sights. Just an FYI for any gun owners who want to know more about weapon mounted optics.
As if a industrial grade 49$ sight would survive that -.- what is your point? Its CHEAP and selfmade. Seriously, do you feel smart or special after such a comment? Look at your empty channel and think about it dude.
That's awesome. I'd totally throw that on a .22 for laughs. Nice video, but you should get a vice or something so you don't have to hold stuff while you drill it. Safety first.
Actually, You've made a great red dot man. I donno why I commented negatively about it and you throwing things. That day my friend threw my swiss made watch and I was angry at him for throwing things. lol. My apologize!
What was the point of this? It wouldn’t fit on any firearm or even Airsoft gun. You wasted your time with this. And to buy the tools used, scalpels, drills, even a cd, cos no one uses them anymore so they would need to buy them, you could buy a real reflex sight, which can be zeroed in.
@selfmade Your DIY reflex sight is completely useless for any real applications. You cannot align the sight with the bore of a rifle, it cannot be zeroed for any distance. if you cannot align the sight with the bore of a rifle then it is not accurate at all, meaning your shot will not hit where you point that sight. your DIY reflex is purely for looks and does not actually function as a red dot sight. I challenge you to create a method of adjusting the sight up down and left to right that is stable and can withstand the shock from the gun fire. otherwise this is merely a cool toy for kids to make.
