What is the make and model of the machine you used? Do you think I could use it to replace defective memory on an Android TV box motherboard? The memory chips are 96 pin BGA. I assume I could use this to remove them? When I bought the box it was less than $40, now thanks to trade wars and popularity, it's about $90.
This is Infrared IC heater (I believe T-962A). About replacing a 96 pin BGA, I would say "it depends". I think this machine is capable of soldering BGA, but I have not tried it yet. But the question is how are you going to apply the solder paste? Do you have proper stencil for the chip?
Wow, not bad - I wasn't aware they were only that price. Looks like this could really recover some PCBs better than the less predictable "oven" and "toaster" methods many noobies are trying for their recently dead parts.
