Complete C3 Corvette Areal video: • 76 C3 Corvette A trip ...
A project my son and I did as a teaching experience for him to learn mechanics. He really learned a lot and is so happy it's all done! Time to cruise the vette. Not many kids interested in mechanics on muscle or American sports cars nowadays
Due to changing products, links, etc, If you want the most recent product links (if these are no good), go to www.motocheez.com and click the section you're looking for (upper right) and scroll down the page for the item.
This keeps the links for all the parts more accurate. These I use and install on ALL my videos. I do not sell any of the items listed. (except key tags.. so you buy now!)

Reminds me of when I rebuilt a 400 small block for my old K-5 Blazer, lots of extra goodies in it to make it a screamer and a hell of a tow vehicle!

I had a 1972 240Z when I came out. People were calling them plastic pigs cuz of the fiberglass body and fuel mileage of 9.5 mpg. But a friend of mine bought one and we had a lot of fun driving it through New Hampshire twisty country roads.

Love me some old school SBC. I really miss my '68 el Camino SS with a 350hp/327CID backed by a TH400 to a 12-bolt posi rear. The 396 was long departed when I got the car, but I put some serious miles on that old beast, and it never got babied. Fun car.

Too bad you didn't live closer to me Cheezy, I wouldn't mind helping out with the body paint. I took auto collision repair back in high school, sadly the skill has just kind of gone to waste because all of the proper tools to do it right cost an arm and a leg. That and having the proper work shop is also expensive. The last thing I did any physical painting on was my younger brothers dirt bike frame. That had to have been back in 2005/06, who knows. I have a 3rd Gen LS I bought at the beginning of covid as a spare when I still had my old 04 Silverado. It would be fun to retro fit it into a classic regardless of how many people already did it. Though the vehicles worth doing it do are out of my price range. :)
@MotoCheez
@MotoCheez Год назад
I dabble 8n bodywork, I'm not into it myself. 3rd gen LS great engine!
@Slane583
@Slane583 Год назад
@@MotoCheez I love doing body work. That's why when I was in class I didn't learn much welding. I just kind of ignored the aspects of welding and focused on doing panel prep and finish work. Now I regret not having learned how to weld very much because welding is far more versatile than doing paint. Oh well, I'll get a welder someday. :) The 3rd Gen LS is one of my fave engines along with the under appreciated 327. Sadly after the 4th Gen models the newer LS's just became riddled with problems. It also doesn't help that GM has an absolute hard-on for that cylinder de-activation garbage. Which sadly the L3B Turbo-4 in my 2020 Silverado also has in it. You don't need cylinder de-activation in a 4 cylinder but GM did it anyway and ruined a potentially good engine.

The truck vortec 350 88-98 can also be converted to carb or TBI fuel injection originally.hei distributer It's basically what they used in it after 190hp stock. Brand new 350 vortec truck engine from gm about $1.500 not to bad considering you can get at least 250000 miles out of it no problem.👍✌️💪🍻🛠️💯

Throw those lip seal calipers away and get the o-ring seal replacements. I gave up after 2 sets and got the Wilwoods. I have a 76 as well. Perfect year to mod. Most of the go-fast stuff for the cool year cars fit this and no expectations to keep it original.
@MotoCheez
@MotoCheez Год назад
Didn't know they made an o-ring style
@unfinishedstory9333
@unfinishedstory9333 Год назад
@@MotoCheez depending on where you get them, there should be an option for “original” replacements or updated replacements. The original used a lip seal on the piston that would tear easily if the car sets very long and rust develops in the caliper. Some replacements are lined with a stainless steel sleeve and an oring seal. Much better. I just went with the Wilwood set. Had to change the aluminum wheels to the steel wheels because the aluminum ones don’t clear the Wilwoods but no more leaks and it’s been about 6 years.

13:20 Choke catch can cause the secondary's to not open.. Make sure the choke is open %100. Do >NOT< get rid of that Quadrajet. it looks like it's a 750cfm by that pyramid on the front, and with very little work/ knowledge they are excellent carbs. There is nothing like the howl of the secondary's on a Quadrajet when they open.
@MotoCheez
@MotoCheez Год назад
Agreed! These quadrajets have a hefty secondary. It ended up the cable wasn't pulling throttle far enough. Made a spacer, works perfect now
