I love cats ..and the pickling tutorial was fantastic .truly sounds generally healthier these days . Maybe it's sounds silly but you were one of the ladies I've kept in my rosary prayers
Thant means everything to me. The power of prayer works, I m living proof. The way you and many others prayed for me and my babies....GOD heard them all! THANK YOU.....makes me weep every time I think about the love you all poured over me! GOD bless you, Sis!
@@MrsAlmaTrumble LOL same, my mom and my dad’s mom would always complain to me I was a refrigerator monster standing there with the door open eating butter pickles, or beet juice pickled eggs, or even whipped cream. They swore they were going to put all snacks under a locked chain 😱😂😂😂💖💖💖‼️👨👩👧👧👨👩👧👫🇺🇸🇯🇵🌏🗻🗾
I made pickles yesterday. Yours look so pretty in the jars. Work of art.Gonna be delicious. Yes I wash my lids and put them in hot water too. Hear the kitty. I was looking around. I thought it was my cat. Lol No definitely don't mind the real life noises. God bless you and yours Heather. Have a blessed.
Love a Fridge Pickle! Great time to play with flavours without committing to a huge batch of something. I am waiting right now for a particular carrot from my farmer friend ( they are young heirloom, with tiny green tops) I pickle them with cumin and coriander Take Good Care 🥂
I have been doing canned pickles for years and never wanted to add pickle crisp and tried things including grape leafs. The family had loved them even though they were not really crisp but still ok. Well last year I read to use bay leaves. Well my gosh honestly the bay leaves work. And in pickled beans. And they do not change the flavor. I am loving this refrigerator pickle recipe as well because mine for the fridge were ok but this recipe oh my gosh. Going to try this. I love how you pack them. I am just the same. And it is tedious haaa. Gave me joy to watch that. My kitties are always under my feet and demanding to haaaa in many ways and times. But so love them too. The jars look gorgeous. hugs
💕💕💕 🥒 well look at you go!!! lol doesn’t canning make you feel so good when you see the food security on the shelf ! It’s worth all the work ! Love seeing you canning up stuff and with joy 🤩 I hear ya with the cucumbers ! My manure didn’t come until a month after my garden needed to be planted (which was last Monday) so I’m trying to salvage what I can but have to start over with cucumbers ! And a lot of my other stuff I have to start from seed this week! We still have time tho ! The plants just need extra prayers 🙏🏻💕
hahaha thats right! I lay hands on them and whisper prayers and pour love over them.....I feel like they are the little engine/plants that could! hahaha It's storming again today. My garden just needs some time in the sun!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader that describes my poor plants perfectly!!! When I make my garden tour video I’m going to show u my little engine plants that could … and the ones that could not … but tried 🤣
Our pickling cucumbers did really well this Spring. I still need to pull the last of the vines and will try another round this fall. My husband loves pickles!
What a blessing! 😁👏🏼 I am still hopeful for mine but you know our last frost here is June 1st so they didn’t get in the ground until then and with all of this rain. Ugh. It stormed again this morning! 🫣 So I am praying over my lil’ veggie garden!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader I’m praying over your garden also. The benefit of living in Florida is that I planted in Feb/March, and planted the second time about May. In 3 beds, I just planted Italian green beans the end of June beginning of July. Most everything else has or is dying because of the heat.
I’m with you, I only make refrigerator pickles, dill, a really nice gingered bread and butter and an olive oil dill that sits on the counter for a couple days, then gets refrigerated. Now I want to make pickles, just waiting on my cukes. They look beautiful.
The pickles look yummy. My daughter in law and I love pickles. My son won't touch them 😅 Looks like doing them was hard on your hands and wrists. I enjoy the sounds of children, pets & family instead of other busy background sounds (not a put down of added sounds) 😊🙏
I think everything now will be hard on my hands.... but I remind myself how blessed I am! And soooo happy to be back in my kitchen!!! I spent all day in here. hahaha
LOL I was about to go outside and see where the “baby ” was crying, and here it's your precious fur baby cat being very voiced about you cooking. My very 1st cat, a miniature male born preemie cat, we named Oreo Why Boy. The reason for the Why in his name was because he had a unique black marking on his rib cage that looked like a question mark. He was so funny, my little cuddle bug, and very voiced to me too when I would be doing something, or he wanted to follow me everywhere. I swear I think he thought was a dog,he learned to do all kinds of dog tricks or circus cat tricks when he came to us at young age of about 5 - 8 weeks old. I Loved your pickling video, I like dill pickles for hamburgers, but my munching favorites are butter pickles. Could you do a video for that?? Or for pickling eggs in beet juice?? Sincerely your American mommy follower in Japan 👨👩👧👧👨👩👧👫🇺🇸🇯🇵🌏🗻🗾💪💪💪💜💜💜
That's too funny!😆♥️ Well we do not like beets here and I am all finished with canning pickles this year. I didn't realize I didn't have a video on my bread and butter pickles. But, I use the Mrs Wages Bread and Butter pickling packet and add a few peppers and garlic to them. Super easy! Next year I will film it because those pickles go fast here! 😆
I soak my cucumbers in pickling lime covered with Ice water for 24 hours before canning and then I like to add pickle crisp to the jars as well. It makes for some crunchy pickles
@@TheKneadyHomesteader those cucumbers you used in this video were really pretty cucumbers. I love how you explain step by step what your doing and why your doing it. Oh ya I am loving my Presto Electric Pressure Canner. I have decided that I am going to get another one. God Bless you my Friend
Oh yummy 🤤🤤🤤 they look divine!! Mmmm! Thanks for showing us how to pickle the 🥒s!! I had fun being in a pickle situation with you! 😂😂 Shhh dont tell anyone! 🤣🤣🤣😛🥰 😊 Have a great day!!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader 😉😉🤭 Shhh it's our secret! 😂 I was afraid to tell you that I have a big 🥒....coz you'd cut it in half! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 For once I'll say I got a lil 🥒!!!!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 I see you chuckling over in that corner! 😛😝😛😝😛
Oh...and I love furkidz!! I have two feline girls! Both rescues! They are very spoiled now...I try to make up for what they went thru before being adopted! ❤❤ I have a 1yo Ocicat her name is BonBon. She is a character and a half!! Then I have a 2yo Tuxedo girl named Charlotte who is THE biggest sweetheart and very thoughtful and gentle shy baby. They are so bonded with each other...and me! 😊 What is your feline kidz name? I love talkers! Lol 😅
HAHAHA I LOVE THAT TERM!!!!! Well, I am NOT a cat person, and a little female stray who was very pregnant was dumped at the train tracks near our home. She wandered her way to us. She gave birth on a very cold night in the back of Danny's pickup truck, she lost 5 babies but two survived. A boy, Mikey and a girl, Sophie. We named mom Jasmine, took them in for shots and to get spayed and neutered. No, Mom and Son live here, and baby girl lives with my son Jake, who had been longing for a cat. Mikey is a Mama's boy.....and when she is outside, he wants to go too. He is also a huge talker. hahaha Mom is the opposite. She never meows and when she does, they are silent. hahaha Mom has imprinted on me, I think it's a mom thing, and she sleeps on me every night. So, now I am a cat person. HAHAHAHA
@@TheKneadyHomesteader 😍😍😍 Aww that's so cool!! ThankQ for having a big heart and taking her in and the babies too. Plus having a good soul and taking them to get SORTED. Having furkidz is a responsibility for sure. Awww I wouldn't say no to seeing them in your vid one day..hint hint wink wink nudge nudge!! Haha I'm a furkidz lover! Any kind of fur will do me! I'm a sucker and the four legged kidz zero in on me and I just start spoiling! Lol I grew up with mainly dogs. Dad was a Dalmation breeder early part in my life. I had many dogs for sure...a few cats here n there. When I moved to New Zealand...it's so flipping expensive to own a canine kid!!! Omg! First off even to get a rescue but the corrupt govt here make dog owners pay OMG price PER YEAR PER DOG to even own a dog. I think $500 annually per dog if I heard right. With feline kidz..no annual fee. So poor dogs get a bad rap! Then if you own your own home it's much easier to have feline or canine kidz..if you rent they charge arm n leg for any pet you have. Luckily the lady who owns this place loves feline kidz! Phew!! However soon I'll be moving and My Girls and I will own our own place..so I can't wait! I'll be able to have canine kidz then...OK if it passes BonBon and Charlotte's approval of course! Haha I knew you had a heart of gold!! Big hugs!! Lovely story that your furkidz found homes!! 😍
Do you have a recipe that doesn't call for spices? Pepper and spices raise my blood pressure. Use to have a recipe for refrigerated pickles. Lost it and do not recall what I did. Except they went inside the vegetable drawer. Thank you if you have such a recipe.
Oh just leave them out!!!!! There are so many recipes for fridge pickles out there. I just really like the flavor of the Mrs.Wages. 😆 But you can try any of the other recipes. You can find them in canning books as well as google or here on RU-vid!
Haven't even watched the video yet, but, I have to comment! This is the second time I have seen a pickle canning video using Mrs Wages. I have been talking in front of my phone about wanting to get on my pickles soon and I usually use Ball. "Someone" brought me the right vids to see another option. Has anyone tried both, and what is your#1?
Great question! Because you are still making food that will sit potentially for six months and you do not want it to breed or harvest bacteria. The back of the package of the Mrs. Wages reminds you to sterilize. I do not skip steps, and it would be extremely irrisponsible for me to do it here, in a video, with you. Food preservation and doing it properly and being as clean as possible is so important. To keep anyone, including yourself, as safe and as healthy as possible. I just never take shortcuts. It's not worth the risk. It's such a simple step too, boil jars for 10 minutes. Easy! Why take the risk? Right? Here is the link for the NCHFP on preparing jars before preserving (fridge and freezer falls into that as well as water bath and pressure canning) for foods being stored under 10 minutes of canning it. Hope this helps 🥰 nchfp.uga.edu/how/can/general-information/sterilization-of-empty-jars/
@@TheKneadyHomesteader thank you for the thoughtful explanation. I’m glad to learn one should not skip steps and sterilization of containers is important. Thank you so much 😊
I'd never used any of Mrs. Wages products until yesterday. My pickling cucumbers are coming in and picked up her Dill package. I've never water bathed anything I've had a pressure canner for 2 yrs and still haven't gotten the nerve to use it yet. Followed the instructions on the package and my grand babies loved them but wanted more Crunch. So happy your video popped up ( I like your refrigerator pickles much better and going to give them a try). Thank you for everything you do. God Bless you and your family!
yeah give these a try! also, the now sell extra crunchy pickle crisp! you can't add it to fridge pickles BUT you CAN add it to your home canned pickles. Helps so much! amzn.to/4cM8Bjc
@@TheKneadyHomesteader Thanks I put it in my cart. I can't wait to try them. I'm so blessed to have been told by one of your subscribers while on a another channel that I mentioned having issues with my hands, unabled to even knead bread anymore. She said I needed to check your channel out.
