In this video, Mike Bickle explores the controversial subject of Replacement Theology and shed light on the importance of embracing the biblical narrative of Israel.
In recent times, a remarkable event called the Isaiah 62 Fast has sparked a global movement. Over 5 million individuals have committed to praying for Israel for one hour a day over a period of 21 days. Additionally, 12,000 ministry hubs from 120 nations have rallied their communities to join in intercession for Israel. The impact of this initiative is undeniable, with translations available in over 100 languages and an estimated 15 million+ believers engaging in a new conversation about the significance of Israel in the biblical narrative.
The notion of Replacement Theology, which suggests that God has abandoned Israel and transferred all His promises to the Church, has been a long-standing belief in certain religious circles. However, we present a different perspective-one that challenges this theology and advocates for a literal interpretation of the prophetic promises given to Israel.
Replacement Theology often employs allegorical interpretations, disregarding the plain sense meaning of Scripture. It proposes that the Church is now the "spiritual Israel" or "spiritual Jerusalem," but a careful examination of the biblical text reveals that such terms are absent. Remarkably, this theology has been taught by prominent branches of Christianity throughout history, including the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Protestant churches.
We discuss the two main approaches within Replacement Theology. The first suggests that Israel's role as God's people was completed with the coming of Jesus, and the Church has now taken over. The second argues that Israel's position was forfeited due to their rejection of Jesus, resulting in the Church replacing Israel entirely. However, we explore an alternative view that upholds the historical-grammatical method of interpretation, seeking to understand the original intent of the biblical authors and their cultural context.
It is crucial for the Church not to remain ignorant of God's plan concerning Israel. Ignorance can lead to arrogance, boasting, and even passive or active resistance towards Israel, which may ultimately result in being cut off by God. In Romans 11, the Apostle Paul highlights the partial spiritual blindness that affects both Israel and the Gentile leaders within the Church. We delve into the significance of embracing God's purpose for Israel, as outlined in this profound biblical passage.
Join us as we unpack the deep-rooted reasons behind the promotion of Replacement Theology and its impact on the Church's ability to stand as faithful witnesses and vessels of love to Israel. We address the issues of spiritual blindness, arrogance, and apostasy, urging believers to remain steadfast in the truth and not succumb to doctrines that depart from the faith.
