Compact, low mass is the future. My own 3d printed turntable uses a SimpleFOC sine wave driven bldc motor and an epoxy filled 3d printed shell as a plinth. Really admire the work Rega has done! Gorgeous.
No it isn’t. It’s a flawed concept that isn’t used in any scientific measurement equipment. Rega also offer zero data to back up their low mass theory.
Plinth design on the Naia will be lighter and more rigid, more refined over all-low mass, less vibrations. Uses carbon fiber and lighter, stiffer parts. Tone arm is titanium as well. The Naia is going to be more resolving, more depth to sound, lower noise and better timing. Not massive but definitely noticeable.
Rega Naia and Low Mass are a different approach to reducing vibrations. Plinth materials are light but very good at resisting room interference. Thanks for checking out the vid.
