iFi Audio Zen Phono + iFi Audio iPhono3 Black Label + Gold Note PH-5 + REGA Fono MM Mk5 are all OK. I have also the ATOLL Electronique PH-100 but I do not recommend it as it introduces some buzz / huge background noise in the signal (see my videos on my channel). The ATOLL is considered as a serious contender but it's a nightmare in my system.
Hello, absolutely no such a noise at startup with the original drive belt. Do you have the same Rega P3 ? What you can do is to try a replacement with the Edwards Audio Little Belter (the blue one), cheap and efficient OEM belt upgrade.
Yes have a 2 month old 50th anniversary planar 3. Several other sources said it's normal to make a bit of a sound when it starts due to the heavy platter@@MrToonfish
For reference, here's Rega's response "We checked with Rega - yes, normal. They chose to use a lower power motor for start-up, decreasing energy transfer from that motor to the platter, thus reduced vibration and better"
@@jhsg I certainly have the answer now I'm thinking at my startup procedure... For years and years that I have some Rega TT and my LINN LP-12, just before starting it with the power switch, I put one finger around the platter and make it turn at roughly the nominal speed, then I immediately switch the power on, in this case, it's impossible to hear any noise coming from the belt itself ! That's it.
Hi there, go for it really, for the price tag you can't go wrong with this TT... I upgraded from a 2016 Rega Planar 3 with Elys 2 cartridge, this one is better, it's a bargain. Hurry up because the production is limited in time I think. Some will find the fake walnut finish a little bit cheap but it's ok once you have it in front of you. Better to look at it in real life than on video and/or picture.
@@swiss889 I tried one at my dealer a few weeks ago, and hell yes, around 8000 rpm, the bike is acting like a jet fighter and with the side winglets, I thought I will fly in the air ! This bike is really incredible and much more affordable than the V4/V4S, which is at another level, the V2 is the perfect bike to have in my opinion. Ride safe ;-)
