Great turntable! I’ve had mine for about 9 months and absolutely love it. using the Anita MC cartridge, I’m hearing details I never heard before on records purchased back in the 70’s-80’s . wWell done Rega!!
The gentleman in question will be very happy with the machine. It's a stunning piece... It would be interesting to find out what he chooses to compliment his new p6
Hi sir. I didn’t realise they have changed the PSU power supply , it’s definitely the same as mine which I use with my P3 . Rega should be supplying the new model with this deck , seems a bit cheeky to me Best wishes and kind regards 😀👍👍👍
It’s a tricky subject .... I’ve considered doing a video on it, but I suspect it would cause a lot of anger. Benefits on both sides really, DD sounds punchier, but having the motor strapped directly to the platter causes issues, so they struggle with fine detail... hence DD tends to suit DJs better and belt drive Audiophiles... people have strong views, so I might keep out of it :-)
@@cheshireaudio thanks for replying, I agree it is a debatable topic. I’ve never owned a direst drive myself. I have an LInn LP12 which I bought new over 30 years ago. I agree the motor may make a difference and I noticed an improvement once I removed the Valhalla for a Heed Orbit 1 external power supply. Thanks again and I’m enjoying your videos on your channel, very interesting
One could argue the Monkees were the forerunners of Milli Vanilli, though the practice of having distinct visual and musical performers wasn’t exactly uncommon. The common factor is they wanted to do their own singing/playing, the Monkees got what they hoped for while history was less kind to Rob and Fab.
