Just wanted to say I have been on a binge watch of a lot of your videos. Planning on putting a 3.5 metal cloak game changer lift kit on with RPM steering and a regear with 5.13 since I tow. I was heavily considering the rustys 4in lift until i watched your switch to metal cloak which solidified the choice for me. I appreciate the depth you put into your videos I feel fully prepared to make the upgrades now.

Thank you for watching. I need to get back at it! I love how everything works now. I recently swapped to Maxxis Razr MTs 37x13.5x17 for a more aggressive tire. The Jeep is capable and a blast to drive; I have no plans to change anything. New vids soon. Have fun with the build !

@@TXJeepDad Very nice, tire choice is a tough one for me, im used to running BFG KO2 A/T or the Toyo Open Country AT3's. Ill look into the Maxxis Razr MT's, they look super beefy! Last jeep i built up was a 90 Jeep Cherokee XJ lots has changed between these vehicles, nice to see I wont have to worry about Slip Yoke Eliminators on this build. Appreciate your videos and look forward to the next one!

Went with 4.56 on my EcoDiesel Rubicon (had 3.73 from factory) running 37" BFG KO2's (which measure out at 36"). Transmission acts factory again without losing 8th gear all the time and noticeable gain taking off.

I have a Mojave. From the stock 33s to 37s. I immediately hated the way it drove with stock gears. Infact I parked it and refused to drive it until I regeared. 5.13s now and it drives amazing. I’m one of those guys that wants to be low RPM. The 8speed hated 37s Another Texas JT here!

On my 2nd gladiator, I've ran 37s on my first one and currently on 35s on my 2nd one. Still stock gears still wheel and tow with no issues. My buddy keith is on 40s on stock Rubi gears. No issues besides snapping wheel studs lol. But gear wise still does what it needs. It was nice meeting you the other day BTW. Keep up the great videos bud.

your build would look nice with the oem Extreme Recon fender flares. Seems so subtle but looks aggressive in person. It's been one of my favorite additions for the money ($60-ish) from Mopar.

Yep Eco diesels are torque monsters. I haven't heard anyone regear them

@@TXJeepDad Definitely. I put 37's on my ecodiesel and it doesnt seem to notice the added rubber. I am considering regearing anyways for shits and giggles. Might wait a bit though.

Could you help me out together a list of what I need for my lift and mod. I don’t care for off-road, I just love the look and want to make my glad cool.

Figure out what wheels and tires you want to run, then get a lift to raise it up enough so it won't rub. You don't have to get a lot of stuff to start out. Just replace as needed etc. If there is a shop near you, stop by there and tell them what you want to do and see if they have recommendations or can quote you prices. Then go from there. Maybe visit 2 or 3 shops 👍🏼

Look at a Spacer Lift (like AEV) if you don't off road it would be a great way to get the look without all the extra stuff. I now run. Metalcloak Lift. Their customer service is great and answers all my questions

I’m trying to mall crawl on a budget 😂. What do you think about the 3.5” rough country lift on 37s and waiting a year before upgrading to 5.13s? Absolutely won’t be doing any rock crawling

You're good 👍🏼 it's mainly if you tow or offroad etc. I have a friend on 40s running stock 373 gears.. he's happy with no plans to regear. So save that cash for something else. I'm kinda a budget build myself, not everyone has deep pockets right 🤣

If you want the full range of your transmission, you gear appropriately for your application. If you are ok with reducing the effective range of your transmission by 10-20-30%, Dont regear. A lot of folks are cool with reducing the effective range of their transmission. I think that’s crazy but hey, it’s their pig 😂
@TXJeepDad
@TXJeepDad Год назад
I agree w that. Most don't regear I'm finding lol I'm one of the few in my local area w a JT that has. Man my jeep is a blast to drive, it's quick, lots of torque on the 5.13s w 37s. Probably would have been fine w 4.88 as I'm never going 40s but it's fine for now. Thanks for watching and commenting. I learn more everyday from you guys
