How have I not seen this until now!!!! Absolutely love this guy’s style and groove. I most definitely want tips from him to improve my playing. Been working on my reggae, Latin, Afro Cuban styles. Definitely has been a challenge for me but I have seen great improvement. I want to get my flow on his level, or as good as my abilities allow, lol. His drum sounds and tuning is fantastic as well. I’m going to try and emulate on my Roland td-17.
Потрясающе дядь. Искал ритмические рисунки и паттерны, только начинаю изучать этот пласт культурного наследия. Ты крут. безусловно. Jah Rastafaraaaaai :)
Top quality reggae drumming. Who are the 54 people who disliked it? There's nothing to dislike about this authentic Roots Reggae style of drumming, played superbly here.
Somewhat new to Reggae and surprised to hear 4 on the floor. Really does have a sound of its own. Have you always played Reggae or do you do other stuff?
very nice man im feeling this .. hey i am needing a drummer to drum over the tracks that i have created would you be down to do the drums for me ? let me know man ..nice stuff
+Mugshot Marley True true. If you listen to the classic recordings of the masters (Aggrovators, Revolutionaries etc) there aren´t any gimmicks - they know how to keep things simple and thrilling.
Manfred R. I consider myself a better than average drummer, especially with reggae. We had a large fundraiser type gig with some big name reggae headliners, so the drum set was a rather large 7 piece with +4 cymbals iirc. After we were done with our set, the next groups drummer, an older guy, took down most of it, using only one tom, bass, snare, hihat and crash. He absolutely killed it. During the set, ALL of the drummers were backstage watching. Seemed liked he focused more on syncopated type fills, accented his hits and was super tight, like a metronome. He was easily one of the top drummers at the venue. Since then, I've scaled back my set and kept it simple/basic as possible. I admire drummers who can do more with less.
Speaking as a Caribbean native I've got to say Roots Heritage, you've got mad soul. Love how you hold the beat while vibing to the music. I've been drumming for about 8 months and its seeing guys like you doing your thing that helps keep me motivated. Bless up!!
