You can get skullcandy's aviators for 150$, they are much more comfortable and have great sound quality for the price. I know skullcandy headphones are pretty notorious for their mediocre sound quality and trying-so-hard-to-be-hip artistic designs, but the aviators are surprisingly good. So yeah, don't buy into dre's beats. Not comfortable. Maybe good sound quality, haven't tried them--but you can get better for the same amount of money, so why bother?

$300 for good headphones? That's the quality cut off price point? I don't even know where to buy something like that. I'm open to the suggestion though.

Yes, that is true about Dre Beats headphones. They are very overpriced. The sound quality is nowhere near competing brands at the same price.
