@@bobsaget7832 His mettle, obviously. I'm guessing English isn't your first language if you haven't heard the phrase "held it together" before. It's either that, or you're just being purposely obtuse because you have undiagnosed aspergers. Either way, why be such a twat on a 3 year old comment?
@@RangersGirlJackie99 i phrase is a small bit of wisdom like ' where theres a will theres a way' held it together is when you hold multiple object in a condense place. Dont just say things youve heard people say and think your an individual by saying it.
@@staunchin4726 that is the point. You dont understand. ' im giddy in to the old bucket' " i understand what he meant, he is going to the bathroom" just because you understand does not make it understood. Catch you in the flip side
BE CONQUERED BY THE MACHINES honestly it’s sad but this was probably USED for sound effects just because it’s rare to hear a large crowd gasp like that
Heart breaking? Are you aware what the human heart is made up of? If you drop playdow does that mean you break it? Be an individual and think about what you say.
To Reggie’s credit, he handled it about as well as humanly possible. I can’t imagine having to make that statement while getting that news right before and holding it together.
Same. I actually shed tears. It's kinda like you could really feel their pain. That crowd noise is never heard so to hear that it's very depressing. Reggie White's sentiment though for Jerome Brown just made it more heart-wrenching.
The loudest collective gasp followed by silence I've ever seen. RIP Jerome Brown. One of the best young athletes this city has seen. Would have gone on to do great things.
Jerome Brown died the night that my sister was born on June 26th 1992. The Eagles would then go on to win Super Bowl LII on February 4th 2018 AKA what would have been Jerome Brown’s 53rd birthday. We gave Jerome the best birthday present this year. This is why I love my my team! I’ve never been so proud to be an Eagles fan. Philly Philly! 🦅💚🏈 #SBLII
@@pomerlain8924 This video actually just threw me back to finding out about Kobe’s death all over again. He passed on the day of the pro bowl & the cell service there in the stadium was beyond shitty, so all (or at least most) of us found out this exact way. They made the announcement during a timeout in the first quarter & it just sucked the air *completely* out of the stadium… That immediate collective groan, then shocked silence from the crowd & the looks on everyone’s faces as they put the tribute picture up on the Jumbotron is something I’ll never be able to forget, this video was the first time I’ve actually heard anything else even remotely like it. I’d been so excited for my first pro bowl too, now I don’t even remember anything else from the actual game other than how the energy just completely shifted after that, the rest of that day was a total blur.
@@justq5505 they were just putting it out there that they were effected even though they didnt route for them or wasmt their home team. It says alot. Troy aikman can fall off a cliff tommorrow and i could give two fucks.
Reggie was one of the most respected and finest players ever at Tennessee. His name still evokes smiles and stories. One of my favs was from a former LSU quarterback. UT beat them that night in Knoxville. Their QB was amazed that Reggie knocked him to the ground several times that night but helped him up, checked his welfare, and encouraged him each time he did. THAT my friends is a lasting testimony to Reggie's character.
Holly Alexander Not really, I just hate hypocrites, Packer fans, they seem to rag on Russell for being ultra religious, yet forget this guy here for being much more religious.
This Superbowl win would be for all the Eagles past and present. Vindication to all of us birds fans that love this team and their history... Rip Reggie, Jerome, Andre.......
We won it for you guys and every eagles legend that passed! Rip Reggie Rip Jerome. We did it! #flyeaglesfly #superbowlchampions #philadelphia #phillyphilly
Now they are both together up there geting ready for football season. there is legends and heros, heros get remembered legends never die. rip white and brown legends
As Troy Aikman put it, the best defense I've ever seen was the 1991 Eagles. As Michael Irvin said about Jerome Brown, he is the only player that the other players actually feared playing.
Matt Beeman That’s bringin’ some great info, right there. Good stuff! Yes, J. Holloway came in to replace Aikman and led the Sooners to the championship. Aikman then transferred to UCLA.
When I first saw this on a football life I cried ... I cried pretty hard ... it was the collective gasp of the crowd followed by a super heavy silence that really stuck with me
30 years ago today. Even though I wasn't born yet when this tragedy occured, the stunned gasp of the crowd at 0:35 gives me chills. RIP Jerome and Reggie. May you both play on the giant football field up in the sky forever and ever.
Golic? Don’t go overboard! ha.. But yeah, he did get an interception in Dallas, although Philly gave it right back on the next play. The heart of that defense was my favorite, Seth Joyner.
Man I’m a Dallas fan and this made me shed a tear, sometimes people need to realize it’s just a sport, this was a mans life. That’s why it kills me when I see some people happy that a player got injured, that was a mans career
As a Packer fan, I got more respect for White and like to thank him for winning the Superbowl for Green Bay. Even though he was gone; he was up there on the field with Jerome Brown on Philadelphia side again. Rest in peace White and Brown the greatest Defensive players
Imagine being an Eagle fan in that crowd and hearing about Jerome Brown's death for the first time. Almost 30 years later this footage still packs an emotional wallop
I'm a 49ers fan and I remember both (RIP) players on that Eagles defense back then. I was flabbergasted that in June 1992 that Jerome Brown and his nephew were killed in an auto accident in Florida. I was also shocked that Reggie White passed in December of 2004. RIP to both men.
@@redwingsfan3621 where does it say its a funny comment? The fact that you said something unrelated to the video but are saying ' well words can mean anything i choose them to be' thats pc
+MrCheesyBaconBits Jerome Brown was a ex-NFL player in the late 80s a grad of the University of Miami(Fla). He died in a high speed car crash along with his nephew who was 12.
I know im gonna sound old but you can't have a collective moment like that anymore. Because of the internet and smart phones half the people in the stands would have already knew. That collective gasp and shared moment in the stadium with White was beautiful
Reggie White was a great player and very humble man with God and now he's gone to heaven to reunite with his teammate Jerome Brown back in the day and now I'm still huge fan of both of them and not fair to lose them and they were popular back in the day since I started watching football games on TV when I was in my younger years
I'll never forget my boyfriend at the time telling me about Jerome over the phone. Then I told my Uncle Bill (RIP), one of the biggest Iggles fan I ever knew, the terrible news 😢. He was devastated & he cried. From that year on, we had the number 99 on our Christmas angels with football necklaces around their necks (we got them from 25-cent gumball machines at the supermarket). I got to see both Reggie (RIP) & Jerome play at Veterans Stadium (RIP). Glad we won it all on his birthday 🎂. Go Birds 💚 🦅 🏈
As soon as he heard the crowd reactions, it's like you can see the impact of the crowd hitting White and he immediately understood the reality of what happened. What an ordeal to have to experience in front of 10s of thousands of people
Packer fan. We were so blessed to have him on our team. I cried the day he died. He saw the potential in Jerome as a man, and to him that was the most important thing
Imagine sitting in a stadium with 70,000 people and as a 13 year old after hearing that news the stadium being so quiet you could hear the air compressors hum.
Remember that day. I was on my way home from work just outside Philly when I heard on WIP Sports radio about Jerome involved in a car crash.."it wasn't good." Flashback of Pelle Lindbergh of the Flyers..just sad. JB was awesome. AND Reggie White too. They are still both sorely missed!
Reggie is my favorite player of all time and seeing him like this just made me sob. God bless both these men and Reggie you will always be in the hearts and minds of Packer nation. Thank you 92
The Eagles finally brought it home for Jerome, Reggie and many many other Eagles and fans who never got that ring or to see the team win one. WE HAVE ONE. Thank you Eagles!!!!
RIP JB and his nephew and RIP RW, both will be forever missed. I don’t think there could be a better man or a better person than Reggie to inform the Philly fans that they had lost JB.
People forget how great Jerome Brown was...and he was JUST starting to enter his prime as a player. Back to back All Pro teams and he freed up Reggie to DOMINATE from his defensive end position. Reggie, Jerome, and Clyde Simmons was almost unfair.
i remember when this happened. everyone in Philly was thinking 92 is finally going to be the year. Randall was back from missing all of the previous season. The eagles had signed Herschel Walker. Then Jerome died. They still had a good season but the defense wasn;t the same without him
I'm not a Philadelphia fan and I wasnt even here until after this happened but. Rest in peace jerome brown you will always be remembered in the hearts of many who were there on that day and many who werent there until after and they will never forget you.
That was the day we lost a great human being..and now they are both up in the heavens looking back on life.. thank you Reggie and Jerome..two of the greatest this city ever had. Godspeed
I remember this like it was yesterday. When I heard about it I just sat on my couch with my mouth hanging open and a tear in my eye. I couldn't believe it.
What a different time it was. Leaving the house for a sports game, not knowing "news" before returning home or hearing it from mouth-to-mouth on the streets. Look at Kobe Bryant; people were instantly aware of the situation. What a time we live in, and I hate it.
