I think that Michael did contribute money to have Suge & Dre to allowed their Death row artists to record songs at Dick Griffey's Solar studio for free. However I do not think (I could be wrong) that Harry-O Invested any money to help start Death Row, that is probably why Suge refuse to acknowledge Michael's claim of him investing 1 million dollars to help start Death Row, so from Suge point of view was since Harry-O didn't give him any money to start Death Row only paid for Dre, Snoop, Rage, R.B.X., Rage, The D.O.C.,Kurupt, Jewell, Paradise & Daz to record songs at Solar studio which some of those songs would end up being on The Chronic album Suge felt he don't owe Harry-O any money.

So maybe Michael felt sense he put in money for Death Row artists to record songs at Solar studio and was never compensated for it and some of those songs would end up being on The Chronic album (Which sold millions of album and made Death Row) he felt Suge or Interscope owe him millions of dollars.

Unknown (Andre Manuel) had a small Independent record label named Def Row, so Suge & Dre wanted a hard core name to called their record label, so Virgil bought the named Def Row from D.J.
