So glad RRC was finally brought to light. No one ever talks about it like ever. Even the SF guys who have RU-vid channels will tell you they don’t know enough about RRC to make a video about it. We know more about CAG, ISA and Dev than RRC.
He touched on the main difference that makes RRC/RRD a tier one unit. They can operate independently from the regiment. You are assigned intel and it’s up to the unit to plan and draw the resources needed to carry out that operation. Whether it be direct action or recon.
Had a platoon sgt who came from RRC. He came to my line company, something about his paperwork getting screwed up as he was trying to go to some school. Was the best plt sgt hands down I ever had. All around just an awesome human
@@joesgotya9930 Excuse me????? did u actually compare RRC to UK's SF's support group??? (I.E. 1 Para and 32 Royal Marine Commando's, essentially tier 2 units). RRC had a larger influence on SRR than ISA did because SRR still prioritize DA capabilities in there mission sets if need be. And UK SFSG was heavily influenced and primarily created to mirror/function as the 75th ranger regiment does in its operational capacity in JSOC, and to function similar to our other tier 2 SOF units. RRC is tier 1 in every single way, shape or form. Not only do RRC give vital information to the 75th and all other tier 1 units but they also find, fix and finish there own targets, were ISA do not. And also forming UKSFSG allowed the UK military to allocate additional funds for necessary advanced training and equipment to the 4-5 other special operations units in there military because before they were only considered "specialist" units like our 10th Mt. Division, and were only allocated slightly more funds then conventional units.
@@joesgotya9930 RRC definitely isn’t the recce side of SFSG. The level of work they do is definitely equivalent of SRR. Both ISA and RRC have similarities to SRR.
@@danielcampbell9457 Sorry but these units where on operation many many years ago and all developed from SOE & stay behind groups that’s why many operatives kept their skills secret as everything was organic and being used without publicity at all.
In Ukraine it seems reconnaissance is heavily using drones at all tactical levels down to even squads on both sides. Does the training reflect this in SF? How have they incorporated lessons from Ukraine?
The tactics and lessons learned coming out of Ukraine don’t have much in common from where Mikes RRC experience came from, which was predominantly hunting terrorists in the GWOT. ISIS was using low tech drones in their little chapter, however nothing compared to what Ukraine and Russia are employing as we speak. I think Ukraine is in uncharted territory in terms of innovative TTPs fighting a near peer. A lot of lessons learned coming out of that region for sure. Stuff we have never seen.
@@joesgotya9930you can bet the house US SOF units have boots on the ukranian ground taking notes, at least, if not providing counseling and sniffing around. Some spanish journalist who allegedly has some insider access through third party reliable individuals came out stating that 22 SAS members + some frenchies were killed in a airstrike in Odessa. Could be BS or rusky sponsored noise, hard to tell but not too far fetched. Pardon my english, not a native speaker typing
Depends entirely on the situation, environment, and all such influencing elements. It could be using a drone or crawling around in the bushes, high power special cameras inside scopes, hacking computers to watch them CIA style etc. both RRC and Gray Fox are essentially spies.cia spies are just average goobers doing shady stuff, military spies are the real life Jason Bourne style characters. You'd be shocked at how average and incompetent the average CIA agent really is, I know Mafia cats and Cartel Sicarios who are vastly superior in tradecraft to most CIA spies. Now ISA, RRC,DELTA etc are truly the tip of the spear. People have no idea how capable these cats are. When the bourne identity came out I was impressed because thwy actually had Damon using the actual close quarters hand to hande techniques we use (Wing Tsun, NOT WING CHUN NOT THE SAME, Kepap Lotar, NOT THE AVERAGE CIVILIAN KRAV MAGA EVERYONE THINKS MAKES THEM AN OPERATOR, Open hand Kali silat, and point blank STUDLYNESS .
@@joesgotya9930Ukraine lost the war already. They just haven’t stopped fighting yet. If anything we learned to do the opposite of what Ukraine did! They spread their troops out so far when they were already low on numbers. It seems like they just wanted to shoot a gun and collect the money. I swear every Ukraine video I watch theyre shooting at absolutely nothing 😂. Suppress my ass, they’re just holding the trigger down.
They still remain but aren’t using the heraldry and names anymore. Every IN battalion has its own recon elements. I’d like to see LRRPs make a comeback with similar capabilities personally. Gonna come in handy for near peer
Was anybody on the cover photo deployment forced into shaving their heads bald and force to live in a "concentration camp" themed checkpoint? The checkpoint on the other side of the checkpoint?
I mean, if RRC screening is similar to Delta, why would anyone try out for RRC lol. If gonna suffer the same, might as well do it for the premiere unit.
Because not everyone wants to jump out of planes, blow up houses and kick doors down. For some people the sneaky beaky side of things I.e reconnaissance, personnel surveillance, snatch and grab etc. is a lot more interesting than your typical SF unit.
Because rrc is the more ‘spy’ element. They put in way more work over a longer period than the door kickers in cag. They can also do da stuff. Cag wouldn’t have half the missions if it wasn’t for the rrc.
@@katyg3873I see that you do not understand that Delta has always had their own Recce capabilities; they are tasked with work that requires certain authorities and a certain level of maturity that Rangers do not have.
@@arighteousname5882 I think he is trying to say that 20 years ago before social media and everyone wanting to tell a story the RRC, CAG,DEVGRU, 24th STS we all just rumors and speculation. Dudes would never tell you about what they did or how they did it. I.E. SILENT
A lot of these guys come out and speak to their experience because it’s helps them process, and it can also get more guys to show up for selection. Can’t do your mission if no new blood flowing through.
Why the hell would u put yourself thru this if it’s not delta? If u gotta go thru hell like this I wouldn’t settle to be just a ranger. It would be cag or nothing.
@@iknowthetruth8479 1000% I wouldn’t understand. I respect this dude for clarifying what the purpose of RRC really does. They practically go out undercover like CIA but the intel they gather, helps CAG do their job better. Much respect to this ranger for being RRC. I’m just saying, going thru a hellish selection process, I would rather suffer doing it trying out for CAG.
