So fortunate to have been around when great singers like Regina Belle, Miki Howard, Oleta Adams, Anita Baker, Phyllis Hyman, Vesta...(the list goes on and on) were on the charts around the same time. Today's music can't even compare sadly.
💯 Aged from 8-17 in the 80’s as a result, I grew up with some phenomenal singers. Following your lead: Stephanie Mills, Angela Winbush, Angie Bofill, Sharon Bryant, Joyce Kennedy, Alyson Williams. ❤️🖤💚
thanks a bunch @CoryDC45!!! All these years later, and I am still totally mesmerized by her voice, style, and delivery. One of the VERY best in my opinion!! Glad that @JackReacts904 liked this song and said that he wants to hear and play more of her.😁
Regina is incredible. I hope you give more of her music a listen. In the late 80s and early 90’s she ruled the R&B charts . Her performance of “A Whole New World” from Disney’s Aladdin with Peabo Bryson was on the charts for weeks.
🔥 song…. I love Regina Belle. A few of my fav songs by her are “After the love has lost its shine” and “Make it like it was”. Definitely worth a listen!!
Great artist and smoothly seductive song! This does what Faith Evans' and Aaron Hall's Soon As I Get Home Remix was supposed to do but didn't. You should hear the jazz version by George Howard. You would probably enjoy her duet "All I Want is Forever" with JT (lead singer of Kool & the Gang).
“LOVE” by Regina Belle (off the Passion album) is 💥💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 The production, the vocals, the sax, the sensuality and that beat is CRAZY!!!!!! YOU MUST LISTEN TO “LOVE”!!!!!!!
Regina has that old-school R&B with a gospel sound. She was influenced by the incomparable jazz singer Nancy Wilson. She even recorded a song Nancy also sang called If I Could. Nancy Wilson was inspired by a jazz singer named Little Jimmy Scott. Little Jimmy Scott was unique because of his vocal phrasing. And many people who heard him sing thought it was a woman!
If you haven't seen the youtube vid of Regina showing up at Anita Bakers Atlanta concert 3 or so yrs ago, you should watch it. I always thought the two of them sounded similar and both did pop 80's jazz like perfection. I had no idea that they were friends and how much respect that they seem to have for one another. And....they sound amazing together add libbing and having a blast on stage. It made me so happy to see it.
Such a talented woman but I always felt Regina Belle’s career suffered a case of arrested development. In other words, while respected as a gifted vocalist, RB should’ve been much bigger. Excuse me, I’m going to listen to “So Many Tears” now. ✌🏽
I currently got this song on repeat right now. About to play it after this😂 Simple, classic late 80s love ballad with a killer Instrumental. N. Michael Walden did not miss. He also did Vision Of Love for Mariah.
My Fave Regina Belle song & probably her signature song. Jack you have to listen to the album version, which is a lil longer. She really goes off vocally on that version.
Regina Belle...one of my top singers!!! Favorite Regina songs are: "Baby Come To Me" - (both the regular version and the extended version). "Quiet Time" - EXCELLENT song with Barry White "Make It Like It Was" "If I Could" "Do You Want To Get Serious" "A Whole New World" ft. Peebo Bryson (Pochohantas movie song) "Forever" ft. JT Taylor Most of these songs are on her Greatest Hits cd.
Absolutely great, timeless song. I'll never stop playing this, and I didn't even grow up in the era when this came out. Another great song I found through the use of hip hop samples. "Live and Die for Hip Hop" with Kriss Kross, Da Brat, Jermaine Dupri and Aaliyah made me check for this original song. Have loved it ever since.
Another classic!!! Man, we played the FOOL pit of this song when I was in college! You have to do the duet with her ana JT Taylor from Kool and The Gang, it's called Forever
If you ever heard Live And Die For Hip Hop by Kriss Kross from their last album, they sampled that melody on the song with fire production by Jermaine Dupri. The song also features Da Brat and Aaliyah singing the hook. I highly recommend you react to that one 🔥
