The ending makes the whole video for me, I think. It's that soft yet dramatic re-establishment of emotion. The slow closeup of him playing games while she cleans up is very strong for me too. Nice video.

The wire represents a relationship. One bird want to make a new one with the 2nd bird. However the 2nd bird is holding on to a wire, probably a past relationship.. The 2nd bird doesn't want to let go, so they make up exuses for not leaving. "I'm tired, the sky's overcast" They think they don't matter to the 1st bird.. In the end they hold on to the wire and get left behind.. At least that what I think..

Adele of course was equally capable and everything was wholly natural and all too real. I also loved the time-lapse at the end, where it seemed the clouds and shadows were aggregating overhead and swirling below in a responsive dance to the vocals and music as time passes and every memory that went before is fragmented but simultaneously present in your mind at that precise instant, drawing to a crescendo, racing at an uncontrollable pace. Then abruptly it stops, but no conclusion.

This was an amazing video. So much heart

It's impossible to overstate the impact and relevance of this song for me at the moment and I have two interpretations of it. The first is captured perfectly by this video, which crushingly distills the essence of the last 8 an a half years of my life with not exact, but considerable precision. Dan's direction and acting in particular made this video much more meaningful than it might have been if he were left simply portrayed as an uncaring villain (which you might feasibly lift from the song).

This vid is so amazing! Really well made, creative, great filming and acting! It's beautiful! The story is so sad, but true. I can think of several couples I know where one wants to do so much with life and the other won't do anything, they just let opportunities pass them by and it's so sad. I'm glad that could be captured so well in this song and this video.

@EtoGmajor Yeah, I completely agree -- it's incredibly well done. However, I don't think the video game issue is necessarily the only conflict in the relationship -- I think that, more than anything, it's just that the spark that was once there is fading over time. The scenes from 1:47 to 1:55 show how the amount of interaction between them decreases. Personally, I think the twist in the relationship is shown perfectly well. :3 (haha, not that I'm an expert or any sort)
