Same my sister ran away a couple months ago my sister ran away when she went to my moms friend and before that even happened she said that “we will stay together nothings going to happen” but then that happened it sucks seeing the person that made u happy and did everything together and then she ran away we have a very toxic family and she got yelled at a lot and she kinda was a bad.

I get blamed for being the bird on the wire alot but everybody is used to me being the bird on the wire but when I try to be the bird that flys away everybody goes into emergency mode it doesn't make sense

I blame myself for being the bird that won't let go of the wire.

It is never a bad thing to retain these behaviors when you get older. If it comforts you, and it is not harming anyone, it is good. Anyone who says you’re "clingy" for hanging on to what makes you happy is mean.

There's many things that I keep from when I was little because they mean a lot to me... I've changed a lot since then and they're always a good reminder of where I came from vs where I am now and I think things like that are important :) I guess you could say I have "imagery" friends as well because I write stories and to me every one of those characters are real...but nobody else can see or hear them like me but to me they're a part of me and they came from me so if people say they aren't real they're saying that that part of me isn't real...at the end of the day they're real to me and that's all that matters :) one day I hope others will see them too (when/if my books get published) but until then they will stay with me 😌💛 they're my closest friends who have been with me for a very long time and just like they have told my story through their personalities and struggles I will tell theirs through my voice that they helped me learn to use :3

No I think that's a good thing, too many adults feel forced to give up "childish" things and get all bitter and sad as they get older. As long as they don't restrict your growth as a person, I think you should hold onto them. I think this song is more about not wanting to let go of things that simply aren't healthy to keep with you, or not wanting to leave your comfort zone. Imaginary friends are concepts, not mindsets, and you can change and bring them with you through life. A box you painted as a 4 year old is an object that you can keep with you that doesn't get in the way of anything. Unless you're at the point of obsessively hoarding, you're doing alright.

Ik that feeling of pouring everything you have into a friendship at something like school, only to realize after a long, strained period of blindly giving them everything and happily taking the knives in the back for and from them, that they don't really care about you. that they would never protect you the same way you shield them from everything you can. that while your on the floor, bleeding and crying and laughing after taking a whole line of fire for them, they just watch you. they watch you, and then they walk away, expecting that youll be back at the lunch table by tomorrow all patched up, ready to shield them again. and they'll never thank you. they'll never repay you. and it hurts so much more to take all those knives out of your back. it hurts to clean your wounds, hurts worse than taking more. but its the only way you can heal. so while its painful, while it breaks you down before you can build yourself back up, you have to repay them in something they never expected from someone as blindly loyal and loving as you. you walk away. just like they always do. and they will be shocked, but thats the most satisfying part, isn't it? May you always have the strength to pull the knives out.

But maybe someday... someday a new bird will land on your wire. And maybe they'll convince you to fly... maybe one can show you how to be free again. And maybe you'll find someone who will be content sitting with you on your wire for as long as you need. Maybe you'll find someone who is willing to simply wait for you. Because they genuinely want your company, so they will really wait for you. Until you're ready.
