good video! some corrections/notes i have found: (i will add to later if needed) 0:56 the korean logo also has a the visible brown frame surrounding the box art. there's also that weird gold nintendo banner. don't know why that is. also, most of the miis between on the korean box art are different to the miis on the japanese art, most notably, the dancers on the top right of the box art. 2:18 note with the Japanese blood type thing: this kinda decides the mii's personality a bit, because in japan, i believe that, well, they believe that blood type relates to somebody's personality, and vice versa or whatever. sorry, i can't explain it too well, im not Japanese (i'm european) 4:32 Of course, the names for parents are different in these versions, especially with Mom and Mummy, because of American and British English. But why didn't they call the parents "Mommy and Daddy" in the US translation? Why is it "Mom and Dad?" 5:48 Maté in "Yerba Maté" is actually pronounced similarly to "latte" however the L sound is replaced with the M sound. é is pronounced a bit like "ayy" so it's prounounced like "matte." 7:20 I think that's actually supposed to be a Fukon. 9:30 That's more japanese ettiquite. They do that during the beginning and end of news reports, i believe. 10:02 Of course, this doesn't appear in any other version because the Super Bowl is an American thing. Superb Owl. 10:11 The Australia Day Decorations only appear in the Australian version for similar reasons to the Super Bowl thing.
some of my other 3DS games have a brown frame so i think they just like to do that sometimes, the banner is probably the korean version of the "Nintendo Seal of Quality" thing and the miis are different in every version. I had no idea about the blood type affecting the personality but it does kinda make sense The US probably didnt call the parents "Mommy and Daddy" because i've never heard any American say that but im not American so maybe they do idk The "Yerba Maté" thing is literally just because i cant read but still useful to know how to actually say it We just found the Miis sleeping on the floor funny but your probably right about it being a Futon (assuming thats what you meant) thanks for taking the time out of your day to write this, its really useful for anyone that may stumble upon this video :)
@@DrowningGuuse The banner is just a series from nintendo where they sell sucessful games a few years later for much cheaper. Thats why it's called "Nintendo Selects"
@@DrowningGuuse I think the more reasonable explanation for the “Mommy and Daddy” names not being in the American version, is due to those words being seemingly inappropriate out of context.
Nice video! I want to add that the Japanese version includes blood types because in Japan there is a belief that your blood type determines your personality in Japan. Eg. B blood types are cold and calculating. This is just my hunch though!
Not sure about other versions but in the European version of Animal Crossing they forgot to remove villagers asking for your blood type. It left me confused as a child and made me ask my mom what blood type I had. I still don't know what my blood type is to this day.
Great video!! This is the only video i've actually found with pretty interesting information about every region, especially about the Korean version of the game since not a lot is known about it
10:12 in the italian version there are Italian flags in stores on our national festivities (like on April 25 for the Liberation Day and on May 1 for the Workers' Day)
I'm pretty sure that thing sbout a mii stealing another's apouse can happen in any version of the game. Ive had it happen and I have the American version.
i have a emulator and i have the Japanese version that is translated into English except voices, this vid is how i found out. Edit: (nvm i have collection- but it's still the japanese version translated into english bc most of the behaviors and changes are still in collection)
Love this video. I have an fan english patch of Tomodachi Collection and it's been good. I only own the American Tomodachi Life though so I can't see the familiar dream. Also you forgot to mention the songs which are very different.
we were kind of intimidated to do clothing as the video would probably be twice as long if we listed everything but yes we could have named some of them
I think the blood type is absent in other versions because it only has a certain implication behind it in Japan, that being that your blood type determines your personality and behavior I think. Also, It's kind of weird how little it's really known about the Korean version of the game and there's almost no footage of it. It's almost like it's a taboo game to talk about lol. Tis a shame because it seems like an interesting version.
