Two months ago I flew Regional Express Airlines (REX) from Cairns to Townsville, I had a wonderful experience with them, therefore today I'm going to fly with them again!
I'm now in Coober Pedy, South Australia. This tiny mining town is one of the driest and hottest places in Australia. Coober Pedy Airport is situated 5km from the town centre, Regional Express is the only airline that flies to this airport. So did I have another amazing experience with REX? Let's find out in this video!

All Saab 340 aircraft are fitted with toilets. On the WT version, they are at the front of the plane (You would've travelled on a SF340WT in Queensland). On the B models they are at the rear

VH-ZXQ, ZXU are also WT but they don't fly in QLD or WA. Some of the non WT B models also have a front toilet. (VH-OLM, SBA, ZXF, ZXG, ZXK, ZPA, ZPB, ZPC and VNA)

They don't want people being distracted on the apron. I don't think it should say mobile phones, but maybe electronic devices. I'm enjoying all your videos btw, keep up the good work!

Security screening is complex but it is based on the size of plane, not the size of airport. At the moment screening is required for planes over 20,000 kg MTOW. There is a new regulation in the works, which might even require the SAAB to be security screened!
@RoryDing
@RoryDing 3 года назад
Hmmm If it’s based on the plane then why do we have to go through security screening at other airports when flying on a Saab? And I think Saab’s MTOW Is 23000kg?
@TalkingPlanning
@TalkingPlanning 3 года назад
@@RoryDing Its also classes of airports... it's complicated, its mostly to do with the largest plane the airport handles for passenger ops. The SAAB MTOW is only 13,150kg so it's well within the limits. Even the Dash 8-300 is under the 20t rule
@RoryDing

I was a Flight Attendant for an airline named Business Express Airlines Business Express was a Delta Connection Northwest Airlink And American Connection Carrier. Some of Business Express’s Saab 340s went on to fly with REX this Saab in your video was registered as N362BE with Business Express

This was my first ever seen review of REX and l have to say your seat looking over the wing with amazing views of the engine and below the plane was fantastic! The review itself was well documented and filmed, awesome job. Coober Pedy Airport looks like a Public Toilet block in a regional town in Oz😅 but hey it does the job. If they want you to wear a mask then they should have privided the damn thing free of charge not have you pay $2. But honestly thats my only complaint otherwise loved every minute of it. Once again Thankyou for sharing. (I was on a China Southern flight once that hit turbulence and alot of the overhead bins came open and passengers belongings went flying everywhere it was a horrible experience).

@@RoryDing : Being married to a Pilot he fondly called them "plummet airlines" meaning they would likely fall from the sky😅. Have to say in my opinion it was the worst Airlines l have ever flown.

ALL AIRLINES SHOULD REVERT TO the TRADITIONAL "IF IT FITS" FOLDABLE CARRY ON BAGS & NO ALCOHOL OVERHEAD AS IT's A MAJOR FLAMMABILITY RISK!

I have twice flown on this aircraft (VH-NRX) and this was also the aircraft where the right propeller fell off in flight on St Patrick's day 2017. All Saabs have a toilet either at the front or the rear.
@RoryDing
@RoryDing 3 года назад
Yeah I know all Saabs have a toilet now, I didn’t do enough research when I made this video sorry! And yeah I just figured haha I’d be a bit nervous during the flight if I knew this was the aircraft that lost the propeller in 2017 😂😂
@sp4263
@sp4263 Месяц назад
It's very reasonable that they ask people not to use electronic devices on the apron, for these safety reasons 1. Users get distracted, endangering themselves and others near the moving machinery 2. If the electronic gear is dropped it becomes FOD which can damage aircraft.

I understand that you want to do an in-depth video but if the policy is that no electronic devices aren't to be used on the apron maybe just accept it and don't. It's a safety issue within Oz..

How many times does one need to be told not to use a personal electronic device? Kinda disappointed as normally I enjoy your reviews.
@RoryDing
@RoryDing 3 года назад
It’s mobile phones not electronic devices The main reason they do that is they don’t want passengers to stop and take pictures hence slow down the boarding process or make phone calls on the apron Never had a problem in Europe South America Asia... so it’s not a safety issue You can also see airline staff taking photos/videos at work and share them on their social media Sorry that you’re disappointed but I’ll still be doing this
@prkrparkerprkr
@prkrparkerprkr 3 года назад
@@RoryDing yes but the worker asked you multiple times failing to follow ground/cabin crew directions in Australia warrants an offload and is against the law I wouldn’t have an issue with you doing it in the first place but the fact you were asked multiple times is just plain rude IMHO
@RoryDing
@RoryDing 3 года назад
That’s fair enough. That’s why I didn’t argue with him. The sign at the boarding gate says no mobile phone not no electronic devices. I know he was just doing his job I don’t blame him and I was also just doing my job. Anyway my apologies that I made you disappointed And apologies to him too if he watched this video one day.
