Okay, the grade for Richardson is fine, but saying he’s exactly what we expected is crazy, he’s so much more polished than what anyone was expecting

Agreed, everyone uses “raw” as the term, but inexperienced was more like it. You let Shane Steichen get ahold of him and suddenly he was already way more polished than expected.

You can’t say Richardson was exactly what we thought we knew he could run but he looked way better as a passer than anyone thought he was a oroty front runner while he was playing

The lions ask Campbell to play multiple different positions with different responsibilities. Ive seen him play middle linebacker outside linebacker/passrusher or zone droper seen him play inside the DL not frequently but he has gotten snaps all over the place.

Yea, and he really shouldn’t be pass rushing on the line especially at edge, every time Glenn puts him there he’s useless and it’s not his fault. Still a bad pick

Still, he’s gonna be a good Linebacker in this league unless you expect the linebacker to get sacks all day (Parsons). Still, I saw him playing all over the field and I thought he got better and more comfortable all year. His stats will go up next year. Anzalone should be good for a couple years then this guy takes over as leader. He shoulda been no worse than C plus and half of that is because of the position he plays.

Yeah I genuinely don't understand why people are belittling how well Jack Campbell was, he virtually was only in on 50% of the defensive snaps and still managed 110 total tkls also rookie LBs rarely play well, because the learning curve on that position is even harder than QB. Have some faith that he will at least make improvements to every part of his game, he's an Iowa boy but I can see him drastically improving in year 2 and 3 of his career, and before you know it people will be back to realizing that we are all idiots compared to Chef Brad.

For any basketball fans, expect Anthony Richardson to make a Chet holmgren type leap after a year off playing the sport. This allows their body a year of growth without the strain of gameplay. They also get to focus more on the details and academic aspects of the game - positioning, timing, decision making, etc. Not being able to be out there on sundays can also be added motivation to study the playbook harder to get back right when you’re healed up. They are also both freak athletes with freak builds. If AR stays healthy, don’t be surprised if he soars beyond sophomore expectations.

Jack Campbell has been really solid imo the problem is the lions defensive scheme is bad for the linebackers against the pass. C for Campbell imo

right he’s ina similar position gary was in when he got drafted but van ness is playing much better then gary did i’d say he’s still a B- pick 4 sacks and 8 TFL could’ve easily been doubled if he was a starter and that’s a solid rookie season

Lions fan here. I’ve watched every Lions game this year, and to give Jack Campbell a D + is inaccurate. The Lions played Campbell in the Sam LB position for most of the year, which is not what he played in college. When they moved him to his natural LB position, “Mike,” he flashed more. He deserves at least a “C.” Going forward, I believe the Lions found a franchise LB in Campbell. It was a really good pick for them.

Skoronksi had an OL coach with 1 year of NFL OL coaching experience. Also had an appendectomy, and the worst NFL LT playing next to him. He wasn't overachieving, but he wasn't playing poorly either.

What grade would you give the Lions draft? Gibbs, Laporta, Branch, Campbell, and Hooker. I gave them an A. 4 possibly 5 starters 3 on the all rookie team and an AllPro Tightend. I believe Gibbs and Branch are on the alternates for the Pro Bowl. Some say they reached but Brad Holmes drafts on the eye test and not positional value. I would give Jack Campell a C plus. Last year the Lions couldnt stop the run if their life depended on it. This year no one can run on them. What changed? Putting Jack Campbell in the starting defense! Thanks your for your content.

Literally. And they probably would draft Campbell again in the 1st. The lions aren't using him as mainly a middle line backer they have him every where to the point where you know it's not really is strong suit. I seen him play DL outside rusher/dropper he has had to cover in man in certain packages. What he is a good run defender in a scheme that can expand is weekness.

Lions draft is so underrated because of "positional value" like who cares, if you like a player take that player. Look at what Gibbs, Campbell, LaPORTA, and Branch have done. Jack Campbell is a great tackler and he's great against the run.

That’s just entirely false, they didn’t get better vs the run causes of Campbell. Early season when he wasn’t playing much at all they were just as good or better vs the run.

Cowboys really screwed up in the 2023 draft as a whole but Mazi was a awful pick, their was so much talent in needed positions on the board at 26. add insult to injury the cowboys aren't even playing him the way he was made for, they had him lose wait while using him as a nose tackle

Keep in mind, paris johnson jr faced bosa twice, Donald twice, myles garret, tj watt, and alot of good dlines. C is a solid grade but as a cards fan id give him a B+. Appreciate the vid though

Seattle nailed both picks last 2 years . Have to go A+. I don’t think tyree Wilson is as bad as people grade either. Edge usually slow burns and he came on late. Forbes is the worst pick of the draft. 121 QBR against? So bad.

idk if this my bias saying this but i feel like anton harrison is an A or A-. the fact he’s a rookie tackle (normally tackles take a couple seasons to break out) and top 20-top 30 in lineman stats is crazy

I really don't mean this to sound as critical as it probably sounds, but does anyone else always listen to The GOAT HOUSE on 1.75× speed? While I enjoy most shows, I find the host to take forever to get to his point. I listen at a higher speed, and even then the show sometimes drags with the host telling us how he want back and forth about each player and how teams could have taken a different player but didn't but they could have and.....you get it. Again, I know this sounds like I'm an a$$hole, and I sincerely apologize to the host. That said, maybe you could go over the information more before the cameras go, so the show goes at a smoother pace. Again, sorry for being rude. I'm just trying to help the shows get better.

I think that grade on Tyree Wilson is pretty harsh, he was always considered a project player who would take time. Not exactly confident that the Raiders are the right fit to develop him but he still has a lot of potential

NFL Drafts are more about long term future than they are about immediate impact. Gonzalez showed enough in his rookie snaps that he could be a great CB for years to come

As a Pat's fan Gonzalez took snaps against Smith, aj brown and tyreek hill he gave up some yards yes but held his own he even got defensive rookie of the month over other players despite a losing record it was just really unfortunate he got hurt

He's grading Jack Campbell. Jack Campbell was absolutely a horrible pick in the 1st round. Lions fans should agree he isn't a staple to their defense. Campbell is a bust at this point.

Why are they using true MLB at edge rusher outside linebacker on the Dline the use him in the nickel in certain packages. Dude doesn't have set position and the lions have been successful with his utilization besides him rushing the passer. Brad Holmes and Dan must had seen him as more versatile player.

D+ is for sure Campbell, his lateral movement is horrible. Derrick Barnes stepped up and improved a lot this year, he was pretty decent

Reminder that draft grades after the draft are irrelevant. Grading the picks after the players rookie year is also irrelevant. Can’t judge a player off one year of play. But I get why videos like this exist

Not irrelevant, but premature, and some positions clearly succeed quicker than others. O and D Line players usually take a season or so to strengthen up and get their fundamentals, whereas WRs & RBs can often become very productive in their first season. But I agree - I'd like to see more reviews of entire draft classes 3 seasons after the draft.

It's funny you mentioned originally being concerned about the Lions drafting Gibbs so high just to have him split time with Montgomery. I joined 2 dynasty leagues last year and had the second pick in the first round for both. I took Calvin Ridley over Gibbs in one of my leagues due to the same concerns you mentioned. I was like "How is this guy going to score any points if he is splitting time?" Ridley wasn't available in my other league so I reluctantly took Gibbs. 🤣
