In this video I show you how to use categorical independent variables, i.e. ordinal or nominal variables in your regression analysis.
You can find more information about regression here:

Good shit, homie. I was like, how the fuuuuuc do I do this logistic regression when most of my categorical variables have many values... I couldn't wrap my head around it because the regression values didn't make any sense. I'm glad I found this video!

what to do if we have a categorical varilable has more than 3 values, for example 10, do we need to create 9 more columns? What to do with ordinal variables? Thanks a lot

Thanks for the excellent content. How should we report the data for a scenario where we have a categorical variable with three or more categories (2 or more dummies), where SPSS will generate a row with different Beta and significance for each dummie? I have seen articles where this scenario happens and only one row (Beta/significance) is reported to represent the whole variable. Thank you.

My concern why ranch has one scoring number why we can’t give 1-3 or 1-5 number for example we are conducting survey

I have question, on my research paper i have one independet continous variable and four dependent variable in which three dependent variables are categorical with more than two caracterstics or values and one continous variables with more than 2 values. Therefore, what types of regression analysis should i use

Very informative. My textbook wasn't helping much. I liked the simplicity.

I have some question: I have an independent categorical variable with 3 categories (3 dummies). Then I generate my model and I found that just 1 of my 3 dummies is significant. Should I generate a new model removing those dummies that aren't significant? or should I report every Beta despite they aren't significant?

Hi, if you have 3 categories you have 2 dummies 3-1=2 . On the fly, I would say report everything! But that may be different from case to case. Regards, Hannah

@@datatab haha ok, I want to use the multinomial regression as a descriptive way to describe de relation of my independient variables with my dependent variables. And that why if I use n-1 dummies I'm not able to describe that missing category :'( . By the way, if I use n-1 dummies I get less accuracy in the predictions than if I use 3 dummies, also change the accuracy of predictions depending in the set of n-1 dummies that I use for my model 🥺

Hello, I have a question. Is it possible to do regression analysis for two categorical variables and one continuous variable as independent variables, and a continuous variable as dependent variable?

Hi, yes that should be possible!
