Z fold 5 is my first foldable and i love the narrow front display. If they made it slightly wider i wouldn't be mad either. I do notice that z fold 5 is noticably smoother than my s23u. About to send the ultra back for a replacement. I knew something was wrong with my ultra but now that my z-fold has arrived I am convinced

Switched my Pixel 7 Pro for the Fold 5 and I couldn't be happier. The form factor is perfect for me and I will be more interested in having the S-pen stored in the device, trimming a few more grams off, and making it dust resistant than changing anything with the size

I had the Z Fold 3 and 4 and switched back to the s23ultra for its battery life, practicality, and durability. I'm hoping the Z fold 6 has a larger front screen, larger battery life, Flagship Cameras and a built In Spen would be nice.

When it comes to the outer screen...I am indifferent. I'm not bugged by the thin look/feel of it. It's a small price to pay for what's inside. In addition, the thinness allows easier one hand operation. Great video!

Keep the display the same, with maybe a few mm wider. As someone who uses the fold for business purposes, if it becomes too wide on the outside, the inside screen becomes too big to easily use with 2 apps side by side.

I have small hands, so have to even use the Fold 4 with two hands! I have been using phones two-handed since forever so one-handed performance is moot for me, and I expect many others.

I traded my Fold 4 for the Icy Blue Fold 5 and the fact that it feels like I got a huge upgrade, even though it's only marginal improvements, says alot. The weight difference I noticed instantly! To be honest my Fold 4 not opening flat and having that gap when closed was starting to bug me so this new hinge got me hype. For me though being a NYer who uses public transit this form factor is great when out and about for one handed use. When I was using my Notes/Ultras I was always extra careful when outside cause of the wide displays and my smallish hands. Having my watch 6 Classic back has made this upgrade year great for me!

i just sent my fold 4 in because it wasnt opening all the way. had it for 11 months. luckily i was still in warranty and they said they dont have parts to fix it so they are refunding me the whole $2100 back. i couldnt believe it. so im either getting the fold 5 or waiting on the oneplus open. im struggling right now with my iphone 11 i always kept for a backup.

Keeping my s23 ultra traditional phablet until 1. Crease gone. 2. Spen that I barely use but still use and a nice to have feature must be included in the phone. 3. Wider (traditional width) front display. 4. Top camera quality. Now all these things would promptly raise the price but still would be worth it

Fold 1, 2, 3, 4, and now 5 user. I am team narrow. I was the front screen for checking time, alarm, for camera for video recording. I use it occasionally for texting. The fact is, if you use it one handed and take advantage of the good lock one hand app. Top of the screen doesn't matter. Grow as a user, use the new software and you realize the taller doesn't affect ya :)

Ironically, I discovered that my typing accuracy on the Fold4 went up tremendously by making the keyboard SMALLER. I love the narrow aspect ratio. I sometimes lust for the sheer camera power of the S23U, but then I remember its massive girth.

@havocd I hear you. I stopped worrying about phone cameras when I got into proper full-frame photography as a hobby, so that doesn't really bother me any more. The only thing I use my phone cameras for is quick snapshots where quality doesn't matter. Even the S23U can't hold a candle to what I get out of my full-frame.

Some people, like you, adapt well, and are typing wizards, but the less versatile of us, old dog new tricks types, find the narrow Fold5 front display really frustrating. I carry two phones and that is def needed as I start making a mess on the Fold5 front display trying to type and make sense, and then I give up and switch to my other device.

Riiiight. 😂 Speaking of "old dog, new tricks:" If you ever used any early iPhone, Android, or iPod Touch, you should be used to the Z Fold cover keyboard. They're exactly the same size...but people weren't complaining back then. Weird. 😉

@@myfakeguuglaccount8307 I never bought the Galaxy Fold 5 but I have had the fold4 a while and it is very similar in respect to dimensions of the outer display, which is the deal breaking issue I mostly mention. The rest of the Galaxy Fold 5 is fine if a bit boring for a 5th generation, and of course a smaller battery than it should have versus rivals. The cameras are not ultra standard but great software means they perform well enough. The price is obviously a barrier to entry for the majority.

So I just got the Fold 5. This is my first foldable. I figured the 5th iteration was sufficient enough to jump in! I actually don't mind the narrow outside display. I don't want my outside display to be as usable as a slab phone. I feel the point of the narrow display is that you can do everything on it IF you want but you'll have to deal with everything being much smaller and a little harder to see. So you open the device and have this big beautiful MAIN display. Idk. I don't mind the narrow at all.

If they make the front display wider, it becomes a normal phone with a small tablet inside. This is pretty much what every other companies do with their foldables. Samsung wants it to be a tablet with a secondary display in front, just like the Flip5. The front display is a secondary display and I really like it. It feels like holding a taller iPhone 13 Mini. My right thumb can reach the letter Q comfortably with one hand when texting.

1000% agreeable CJ. I went to get my z fold and told the cashier the only reason i'm getting this phone is bc the note is dead. He tried to convince me that the 23 ultra is the equivalent and I couldn't disagree more. The fold honestly has they same wow factor that the note had. It's a head turner. People see me unfold the phone and can't believe it's a phone. Once they hear the price tag they truly understand its luxury lol. I love both positions. I use it regularly closed but when I have certain apps running or want to watch a video such as yours, the phone is open. Oh and you should do a review on playing xbox cloud gaming on the phone!

Of course the S23U is the new Note. It's literally the Note. It has all of the features the Note had. (I've had every note from Note 2 to Note 10). The Z-Fold doesn't even have a place to put the stylus. (If it did, yours wouldn't have been "over there"). I do appreciate very much appreciate your video and your perspective.

Team Narrow. But I'll take it a little wider than it is now. Only slightly wider. A few millimeters. Maybe a couple. Preferably between the size of the Fold and the Mate X3.

My Fold 5's battery life improved dramatically after about a week of regular use. I don't use adaptive battery or lite performance mode, and the battery life is definitely better than my Fold 4 was.

My Fold 4 waqs never great, around the 6 hour mark on wifi at 33% brightness, so if Fold 5 does a bit more that would be enough though not really great for a device meant for power users.

Got the Fold 5. And selling it as the idle battery drain is terrible. Losing 12 percent overnight. Tried to reset twice and it still shows the same behavior. Sad, really wanted it to work. Great videos, keep them coming.

As much as lil prefer the passport style of the pixel fold. Dual screen apps just scale better on the Z Folds inside screen. You see more on the page than you do on split creek on the pixel.

If you make the outer screen wider, then the main screen gets wider x 2. The inner is just about perfect for one hand use. Make it wider, then it could get unwieldy. For me, I could handle a few more cm of width on the front, and I think I could still hold it opened with one hand comfortably. I can see Samsung wanting to stay focused on that main display. Also, I use the front display just fine and like what most people do if I need more...open it up.

It is difficult to use the front screen keyboard with large hands. This is the main reason why I went with the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 cause of that front screen. And sure, I could open the phone up and use the large display, but I don't want to be using that large display while I'm walking around. I only use it if I'm sitting and know I'm going to be there for a while so I can get comfortable. I use the front screen for everything else. I'm not saying your way of using it is wrong but I think there's two kinds of people who use these folding phones.

@@benikaya Nah, Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 did it correctly, they increased the outer screen just enough the main display isn't too outrageous, and it's perfection, and it's more thin closed, Samsung needs to take notes.

A few tips. For the front screen download swift keyboard. That will help you type easier on front display. For battery use place the battery saver and light profile icons upfront so when you are not using it much and is going to your pocket active both for more battery. If you make it bigger on the front then it will be very large when you go to main display. Adapt to your screens and enjoy this masterpiece.

I want to keep the height, and make it a bit wider. I want to be able to fold what is reasonably a tablet into my pocket. Maybe they need to have two different models one for people with smaller hands one for people who may have bigger hands but really just want something bigger. We're not getting this phone to be conservative in size for getting it for it to be big. I'm coming over from the Note 20 ultra, honestly it's almost there, give it the room gives more battery size. Give it the room we have room for the s pen. Give it some room and we got something new that makes up for the note being gone.

For battery life, I have 3 suggestions. Low power mode for movies, light performance mode and battery saver for games (in game booster). This giving ez 6-8hrs on big screen

Definitely use the main display a lot and want the aspect ratio to remain. Of course a little wider outer display and docked s pen are wants (arguably needs) but i like the main display aspect ratio enough to deal with missing those

In main screen is inner screen for you, for me it cover screen. At the end of the day i'm still buying a smartphone, not a foldable tablet. And here, cover display has not the standard format of smartphone and has almost no use so you need to switch to inner display almost all time, decreasing battery life and throwing away 1 hand use.

Narrow is fire. I tried pixel fold, and wider is not better. The narrow feels better to hold closed, and I open for main display when i'm sitting and want to enjoy this phone! The screen ratio is perfect when opened

Have been a Note user since the original and finally gave up my Note 20 for the Fold 5...and so far sooo good!!! The thinner front screen of the F5 allows me complete one hand action!!! The only draw back I'd ask Samsung to fix is give me my flagship cameras 📷 on my top of the line model

gotta to keep it a 100 - need the Z Fold 6 To have s pen support On the outer display, it also needs to House the s pen keep it the same length as a note twenty ultra Make it wider so It feel like a regular phone For me the pixel fold just too small Think about it if you make it smaller you lose ratio on the tablet format when it comes to Cameras We need S23 Ultra Cameras Water resistance dust resistance. I believe samsung is just holding back on a bigger battery, larger front display and the S-pen, to keep us buying in the future as those features are released. But I think they'll bring them soon as competition is catching up pretty quick.

I like team Narrow if I wanted wider, I would open the phone up. I never worried about the battery life because I never been in a position where I did not have excess to power, but you would not believe how many times in a week I get contacted by Samsung to upgrade my 4 to the 5 and I want to tell them so bad it's no reason for me to. you did so little to the 5 it's not worth me spending $700. meaning Samsung wants to give me $1000 to upgrade.

I have been going between which I want, flip or fold. I own a tablet, so the fold might not be worth it and just get the flip, but I don't think the fold phones are ready yet now. They are getting there and happy that Samsung is leading the way, but it still feels like it's being tested, I also have a bit of long nails so it scares me about the softer screen, I think there will be a day that they make a strong enough foldable screen that can resist nail scratches

I returned the fold 5 because of the battery life. I really wanted to keep that phone, but I was getting almost double battery usage from my iPhone 14 pro max that I was planning to trade in for that $1k. Maybe next year.

Keep the height! Don't add too much width it needs to stay narrow and integrate the s pen inside the phone and make it useable on the outter screen. Put a bigger battery and put that 200 pixel and 100 zoom back camera and wala magic 💯👌🏾 it's the future and an amazing productive tech device especially for us artists and creative humans. It's on a different level in the tech game that's for sure 💯

I think a 1/4 inch wider on the front display would be perfect. The s22 ultra is about 1/2 inch wider. The happy medium, 1/4 inch wider.

I love my zFold5. It's amazing, best multitasking software, brighter screen, better battery life, speakers sound amazing and a lot louder, fits in pocket easily, and is very light... It's all so fast and efficient Best phone in the world😅

I had two z folds, the two and the three, I didn't mind the narrow front. I actually liked the candy bar shape. However, that being said, I did switch the pixel fold this year because it's got a lot on the camera today AI and all that but not saying I Won't ever switch back at some point

Yes the new gen2 processor is a game changer I have the s23 ultra I could tell of a difference when I had my s21+ Definitely a game changer glad I upgraded 😀

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is already the #1 foldable out there but to be the top overall phone in the world it needs only 2 things... give the Zfold 5 the same camera from S23... make the Zfold 5 wider mimicking the Pixel Fold. Those 2 things right there would make this the #1 overall phone out there...

I like the narrow screen as it makes it easier to use with one hand, that's what makes the fold special for me. I like a phone with a big screen, and with a fold I have an option to use with one hand or two if unfolded, compared to for example ultra ones, where its too big to use comfortably with one hand.

The narrow display in front is suitable for one handed usage, as compared to the usual thick display like the S23U. If you need a bigger screen, fold it open and you get the full experience. I think it's really a design by choice. Who knows, maybe Samsung would change that in their Fold 6 next year?

Women's hands are smaller and may prefer the current width. In fact, they may prefer half an inch taller instead of any wider so it's closer to a traditional book page size which can be a better tablet, however that maybe too long for pockets. Personally I feel the narrow width makes it look elegant as opposed to Google Pixels. I'm waiting for Samsung Flex S/Flex G to come out which will be really nice to use as a tablet.

Team narrow....let me explain. When you put on a case with hinge protection and hidden holder for spen at the hinge.....perfect one hand. I got the spen at the hinge with stand and card compartment and built in glass screen protector from vihibi. Perfect...trust

If you want it wider, just go pixel. I love the form factor of the fold 5. It's so easy to use 1 handed. And again, if you want it wider, fold it open. Pretty easy to solve. They need to keep the form factor though. Otherwise we all might as well rock a slate phone......it's so easy to put on your pocket. I would like a big battery.

I wish it’s wider. The Samsung keyboard can only be made slightly narrower and even then, it’s extremely hard to text.

if they make it wider, there will be space for S pen, bigger battery or maybe even make it thinner. But the front display will loose its minimalistic purpose. I'd say that's a pretty good deal
