Frigate6054 I do know this song. Grew up listening to it and love it but I never knew the history behind it or anything else. Excited to delve into more Warren G.
The [bleeps] on this one had me cracking up tbh lol. But regarding the song: this is one of those tracks that can be used to make value judgments in everyday life - for instance, I could never fully trust someone who doesn't involuntarily rap/sing along with this track whenever it's on (even if only in the background faintly).
What I love about this song is it focuses on aspects of gangsta rap that very few songs did back in the day. It focused on the vulnerable side of the gangsta lifestyle, making it a different and in my opinion a more relatable kind of cautionary tale. And btw, please watch Juice AND Above the Rim ;)
You like Warren G check out "This DJ" Bone Thugs "East 1999" and "Resurrection" Eazy-E "Eazy-er Said Than Dunn" and "We Want Eazy" Krayzie Bone "Heated Heavy"
Just in case you didn't know, the song is from ABOVE THE RIM. Starring Tupac, Leon, Duan Martin, Bernie Mac. A pretty good movie, soundtrack is a classic.
That's one of those songs that you gotta be with your best friends in a car cruising around at night with your audio system blasting. Pretty much the music video minus the drama. ✌🏽
Aw Yeah, "Regulate...The G-Gunk Era" was an incredible album; my brother and I used to listen to that and the album, "I Want it All" also by Warren G back in the 90s/early 00s. Also, "I Want it All" the title song from the album of the same name is also a good song and it features Mack 10.
Ryan, you make it so hard for us to love you sometimes! One of the few people who didn't automatically fall in love with Nate Dogg! Warren G is Dr. Dre's brother and a producer/rapper. He has some of the same g-funk sound, but with a smoother edge. He has a lot of great songs, especially with Nate. Here are some recommendations: This DJ Smokin' Me Out I Want It All Lookin At You Nobody Does It Better
Warren G was the father of the G-Funk era. He ushered in the beats with funk but had the smooth laid back flow. He is extremely underrated and changed the game.
I won't stop you from watching , "Juice" 2pac steals the movie, but the movie in the music video is "Above the Rim" which also stars 2pac as well as Marlon Wayans.
i enjoy watching these videos bro damn you two are interesting to watch. Do KRAYZIE BONE-Murda Mo wont be dissapointed! also when she started rapping along 😂gang.
RIP to the ledgend Nate Dogg 🙏🏽 but yall not appreciating the art of back to back from a singer and a rapper that shit is underrated and exceptionally hard to do and this sound the "G-funk" era is the literally the Warren G era!!
Warren G is Dr. Dre's half brother. Also Warren G, Nate Dogg, and Snoop Dogg were a group called 213. Eventually Dre picked Snoop up and Warren G eventually went platinum on his own....The movie is called Above the Rim
she really is a hip hop head, theres so many good rap songs she'd dig, most of these songs you guys are reacting is just scratching the surface. also love what shes wearing, looks like her ass just came from the office, coming home to react to regulate haha
213 was a group that consisted of Warren G Nate Dogg and Snoop Dogg, The name 213 derives from Los Angeles' original telephone area code 213, which served the city of Long Beach at the time of the band's formation.
You have to understand its different styles and different flavors of hip-hop... hip-hop can be likened to an experimental genre...that you can experiment with it in all different kind of ways with different kind of ideas and if a hip-hop artist is great at hip-hop they can make some of the most amazing music that's been created by these hip-hop rappers that has the gift to create hip-hop music on a high level...and all rap hip-hop music is not going to be love...that is understandable...you have a lot of people who tried to experiment with hip-hop and crash and burn...like in all music genre's...My family was Christian oriented and there were songs that we could not listen to but when songs that came out that wasn't like in your face songs like Tupac or NWA made back then we was allowed to listen to songs like regulator because it didn't appear to be as vicious or Savage as a Tupac song or NWA song so we was allowed to listen to a song like regulator and get away with it because our parents wasn't hip to the times that the music I grew up with...so back then the radio version was the only way we was allowed in our house to listen to hip-hop music...because a lot of the cussing was taken out of the songs to make it radio friendly as possible...(the key word is frendly)... in every house it was different... I had friends that their parents didn't care what they listen to....I mean they didn't go out robbing and killing anyone they got nice careers and married with kids now... but it was just the rules of your house rules back then we didn't have youtube where you can just say whatever you want to say... things were censored back then....keep that in mind when listening to different type of style and flavor of music... ssf one rapper had parents that listen to jazz when they was kids...their kids grew up loving hip-hop...and incorporated jazz and hip-hop together as a style with different flavor... Warren G in his household his parents listen to Funk music people like the Funkadelics so he took the Funkadelic Style add Incorporated in Hip Hop to make a different sound within Hip Hop that's all he did...please listen to Canibus a song call (Rip-Rock )....he took rock music and Incorporated within hip hop....I got alot moments to spill...lol...I'm going to let other people elaborate on different songs...I BEEN A FAN SINCE DAY ONE...KEEP DO WHAT YALL ARE DOING BECAUSE...learning about different kinds of music rellates learning about a different culture of people also....its a lot of gems in what you are doing if you are aware of it or not.... also do a documentary Hip Hop this will help you all greatly and you can do it on your Channel just make every Wednesday documentary day well whatever day you choose so and however you put it together that would be awesome.
This was part of the Above the Rim soundtrack. Snoop wrote the lyrics for Warren G. they grew up together in Long Beach and Warren G is Dr Dre's step brother and Nate Dogg is Snoop's cousin.

Do Jadakiss ft. Nate Dogg "Times Up" and DMX ft. Nate Dogg(i forget the title) ONE MORE - WC ft. Nate Dogg and Snoop - The Streets Remix(has a video) RIP to the GOAT!!! And also...this song is about an actual situation that happened to Warren G.
The movie is actually "Above the Rim." 2 Pac hung out with the guy(s) he was portraying in this film. Biggie warned him about these guys. They would eventually set Pac up to get shot at Quad Studios.
