Hi Micheal, I am a beginner & succeeded in building 5 guitars. They all look good but, All of them except 1 came back to me for intonation issues. As you mentioned 1st time builders like myself often overlook or don’t understand all of the important steps that cannot be missed. Wow! your teaching & explanation has help me understand more than I ever understood before. I am in the material prep stage to build a 000 joined at the 12th. this fall. The intonation has been on my mind since I realized, I need to understand & focus on this very important when building any guitar. Thanks so much for your time & consideration. You do awesome great work. But you are also a great picker. I think that is a major plus to be a luthier. I think most of the luthiers can't play up and down the neck as you do. They don't understand the cords and notes all up and down the neck like you. You have taught me a great lesson. Before Luther does major work on my guitar. I want to hear him play it first, lol. Great job my friend. Thank you for sharing.

Wow the sound was so mellow on a video , it would be so superb feeling while playing . Wished i had a neighbour with your set of skills 😅, right now im also having so much problem with my Yamaha FS 720 S , i needed to start all over after i changed to extra light gauge strings and needed to replace the nut , fortunately i saw this video , least i knew about fine tuning intonations for the strings . Of course i needed to check my fret bar for straightness , then put up the strings to see the actions , after getting the height on 12th first , then on the 1st to low the actions. Lastly on the intonations , thats where my guitar will sound like a piano 😅🤣

There are plenty of other videos ( search compensated nut in the search bar when you log into my channel ) . It is a constant moving target. Depending on: / the scale length / string gauge / tuning / action preferences . I do take even more time to share more details / Spec Sheets / Supplies / Tools / more detailed videos / with my Patreon Tier 3 subscribers.

I just found your channel. I have an ES-125 that plays flat on the G and D strings, the way this flattop guitar does. Can a moveable bridge guitar be tweaked such that its intonation is true? If so, could I send the guitar to you?

@@StringTechWorkstations Cool - I watched this video, and while there's some info about intonating, I didn't see anything about compensating a movable bridge (or nut.) I'll be looking, but meanwhile, if you know of a video about movable bridge intonating, or nut intonating, please share! Thanks very much, by the way.

Oh ... OK! Well you should be golden ... with the stock bridge then. A comp nut would then tighten up any other discrepancies that you have. \m/ !

With the cantilever it now looks like the break angle on the saddle is quite weak. Just an optical illusion??

@@StringTechWorkstations .....Contact looks good for sure, just wondering if the ANGLE made a difference, a vertical bridge is going to have a more “acute” break angle it seems.....thanks.

It didn't seem to affect the pickup response .... which is usually the first indication. No notable loss of signal or attack / volume / or sustain ... string-to-string.
