Does vitamin k2 have a role in the calcium utilization in the nerves? Any role with parathyroid glands? Vitamin k2 carboxylates matrix GLA protien preventing calcification of arteries & carboxylates osteocalcin so it can deposit calcium into the bones. What are the other roles of vitamin k2 in calcium metabolism?

So blood level of calcium is much more used for. Cellular process like nerve more rather than strengthening bone mineral

I have had high calcium levels for years. I had a ultrasound and ct scan last year and it was find that my PTH levels were high. I was diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism. Also, deficient in Vitamin D levels. I’m currently taking Sensipar and 1000 IU of Vitamin D. What are your thoughts?

Hv u get rid from this problem?
@harriskhan8146
@harriskhan8146 8 месяцев назад
Hi it’s a great video but you didn’t mention how PTH causes bone resorption. So here it is. PTH acts on osteoblasts which increases expression of RankL. This RankL causes differentiation of osteoblasts in to osteoclasts which causes bone resorption. Hence PTH causes oesteoclastic activity (maturation of osteoclasts) & osteoclastic osteolysis (bone resorption)

Osteoblast doesnt have calcitonin receptors. Calcitonin receptos are present in osteoclasts cells. However, since bone resorption and bone formation are coupled processes, eventually calcitonin's inhibition of osteoclastic activity leads to increased osteoblastic activity.

I have never had any calcium and have no osteoporosis i have hypoparathyroidism normally caused by radiation treatment for throat cancer just limit bad food and bad drinks like coffee and milk that deplete calcium from your bones things high in calcium like spinach kale carbonated drinks in a can protein drinks cooking oil, trans fats, processed foods microwave meals are bad i can not eat BBQ food or Party Food, please learn more about diet does to our bone loss it is not what people think like wear and tear it is what you eat and drink i had mine removed by mistake by the surgeon ended up making me autoimmune RA etc chronic fatigue brain fog etc thankfully im ok now it is now my normal way of life
