rei actually likes ran at the beginning since she's his type of girl, and aya, unfortunately was one of the girls he doesn't like to deal with since he doesn't know what to do around them, but then, rei can't seem to get rid of aya and somehow kept on doing things for/with her without him noticing it, as if protecting her and make her bloom into someone who's independent and because of that, since aya became so persistent and did her best, rei eventually realized that he likes her more than ran
In the ongoing sequel manga, GALS!!, Rei actually confirms that Aya’s feelings were “never unrequited” which means that he canonically never liked Ran. This revelation puts their relationship in a whole new perspective, especially when you go back and realise that Rei initiated a lot of his interactions with Aya. ;; And how he called her by her first name almost as soon as they met, while everyone else was addressed by their last name.
At first he doesnt like ran then he come to like her but he doesnt want to her hes friend feeling and he heared and already know that an dont like the type like rei i think so
I'm 25 and watching these 14 yesr Olds being in love reminds me of everything I regret. Like actually being confident around girls, but my fears of rejection would always hold me back or even talk to them. It still does. Maybe it always will.
I remember he likes ran more than aya, he just dated her out of pity because ran convinced him. He grew to like her later on. They look good together but I think rei and ran are compatible since they are opposites and it balances the energy.
Did u read the sequel? Rei confirmed that he liked Aya for very first place. And he said, he should say that he loved Aya back then at Odaiba when he rejected Aya.
@@Jeonjungkookie19 well I think there was a magazine interview or like a thread??? I forgot where I read it but the author just did the sequel part cause everyone was annoyed of the pairing. Like they’re all saying Ran ended up with a comedic relief bf and all of a sudden Aya gets Rei just to maintain the friendship of the trio when it really should have been Ran and Rei. Like almost at the end of the first series of the manga it’s just so apparent that Ran and Rei has this thing together but if the mangaka continues that route. Aya being the pessimist and easy to get jealous type of character, she’d definitely not stay as friends with ran and miyu. So to maintain the whole intial concept they just went with Rei and Aya. Which then resulted to a huge backlash hence the reason why the mangaka had to justify the whole ReixAya ship. Just to quell the anger of the readers mangaka really tried to insist that AyaxRei is not something that happened “suddenly”
@@eunieberry What's so funny is that Tatsuki and Ran do go well together since he can keep up with her, It seems I was some of the few that loved the pairing. I loved Aya and Rei from the start too.
I hate these kind of stories ...where the main guy who is supposed to fall and end up with the main heroin pity her friend and go out with her out of sympathy.... I feel so bad for Aya after everything she isn't loved even though she's so Cute... I watched this feeling he 'll end up with Ran from the very beginning and waiting for the guy that will love Aya and when I first realize that she'll end up falling for Rei I shut the video immediately... is there a scene in the anime or manga explains that he loved Aya even if it took a while??? If there were such a scene please tell me ..
In short, Rei initiated a LOT of love gestures to Aya even from before then-which is the main reason why Aya fell for him, in the first place. Unlike most of the other girls, she actually didn't seem to be attracted by just his physical attractiveness alone at first. But it was when he offered her to stay with him and to bring her home that she finally seemed to notice him (Gals! Vol 1, Ch 3). By that, it can be deducted that Rei got interested in her first. After all, Aya is beautiful, feminine, intelligent, and quite intriguing. Then his spontaneous kindness towards Aya is what made her fall for him (*As per her confessing about this to Ran in the series). It really looks like Rei most probably fell for her first, but just stubbornly refused to acknowledge his feelings. Well it's pretty understandable for a young privileged man like him (with his fame, looks, intelligence, social status, and familial wealth & prominence) to not want commitment yet and to just be carefree. And with most girls throwing themselves at his feet, he found Aya exceptional for her liking him because of his inner, underlying good traits. Most of the time he looks detached and nonchalant, but his attraction to Aya seem to make him act out-of-character at certain times (with his unexpected romantic gestures to her), despite himself. Well, he's been holding back all these feelings for her, until the sequel Gals!! finally & gloriously happened when Aya eventually gave him the go signal to be more intimate with her (*during the Gunma scene).
But Rei really did like Aya tho, Ran loved Tatsuki because he matches her energy and can keep up with her. (A crazy couple and one of those happens in real life; so I was happy the creator went that route with Ran.)
andrea cullen only in the beginning but since ran has a boyfriend and aya is always there . Her persistent actually came through his heart and he came to like her for real in the end!! AyaxRei
