The agricultural sector in Pakistan employs about 63% of the total population, yet it remains hugely underproductive. Increasing severe weather events and water scarcity adds further pressure on Pakistan’s farms. Smallholder farmers remain trapped in subsistence-level farming and intergenerational poverty and are increasingly vulnerable to the climate crisis.
On July 4, 2022, Acumen Pakistan brought together stakeholders to discuss solutions and the way forward to transform agriculture in Pakistan and build a food-secure future.
