I really hope the anime tackles a flaw. He never thinks about increasing people's stats, there's never anything like that, you just always have to be gifted. But regardless, the anime proves that increasing your stats can be very effective and it's a viable factor to determine someone's value. Time after time you see Arlus's push someone's stats to be higher, even though he only seeks and thinks of those with already high stats I basically want an instance where Arlus ends up being wrong, and someone that didn't stand out at all in his eyes proves to be very powerful when they get a chance to become better. I guess another thing is that he trusts people too easily. Even people that have no ill-intent at first can later on find a reason to do evil.
My understanding is that he sees current scores and potential caps, so he knows people can improve. He has a protagonist's luck in finding people who started high, naturally. I'd be interested to see someone exceed their 'cap' though. I'm not sure I completely agree with trusting people too easily. When his fiance arrives and he sees her ambition score, he panics and doesn't trust her until they talk more later.
@@otakonjunkie It's not just his fiance, it's everyone. He is giving all of these strangers the opportunity to be close to him, and trusts him with his life and wealth. That behavior is eventually bound to lead to someone who may not be of a good heart unlike them, or more in depth would be an anti-hero, someone who develops to become a villain, or someone that ends up not being compatible with this deal. Relationships are complicated I guess his ability can anticipate if they have any plans of doing something wrong though, but he would not be able to anticipate that someone would develop to become a threat or more skilled in manipulation/diplomacy
