Dams with no fish passage have trapped salmon on the floor of California's Central Valley. To avoid extinction as our planet warms, reintroductions to their historical high-elevation habitat may be the answer to save these endangered fish.

Are the native trees along the shoreline of the streams? The native trees that provide the nutrients for the food chain of the aquatic inhabitants in the California streams?

Nice job Jon…I know it’s been an uphill slog but you nailed it. I’m more optimistic about “above dam” reintroduction than I am about Battle Creek and the San Joaquin. Regardless, it’s a start…we’ll done!😜

Opening up Klamath River should be very positive for Salmon population. However, the over population of sea lions and seals waiting for these salmon has to be monitored. It’s pointless to do all this work as a food source for sea mammals and the salmon never make it back to spawn.
