"Hello everyone" gets me everytime. I now have some sort of Pavlovian response to it that gets me excited to learn controls! Wow!

AE511: It is amazing how easy it is to visualize requirements when they are parameterized and plotted on the same plot. Great example at the end.

AE511: I really liked your explanation on the relationship between theta, damping ratio, and PO! With tangent and having a pole along the line of some theta makes so much sense!

@mikarox2 3 года назад
I'm sorry if this was already said, but there is a more direct way to calculate the angle related to damping ratio: theta = acos(zeta). Sometimes this angle theta is also referred to as beta. Great videos, thank you!

Good info on how poles are related to high level performance requirements

great way to link the performance requirements with how we want our system to behave using the poles.

your and brian douglas control lectures are addictive. very enjoyable and very helpful to keep my knowledge of the subject fresh in my head after i finished my college course. also learning new things i wasn't familiar with when i was taking control systems. the fact that you also have matlab focused videos is more than i can ask for. thank you.

Thank you professor for the lessons. I have a question. In the video "resonant frequency of a dynamic system", u said that damping frequency (wd) and resonant frequency (wr) are different. And as I understand, wr is the frequency where oscillation happens but in this video, it is wd instead. I'm pretty confused about this. Hope to get your reply.

Hi, Thanks for reaching out, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Unfortunately I'm unable to respond to questions on RU-vid due to the sheer volume of inquiries that I receive. That being said, I hope you'll consider supporting the channel via Patreon at www.patreon.com/christopherwlum or via the 'Thanks' button underneath the video as I'll be able to answer questions there. Can you do a similar video, but instead of analyzing the poles, you analyze the zeros and their influence in the dynamics? I always get confused with zeros meaningfulness
