I am retired and a widower. I, personally would not consider going on a dating site to meet a woman if I am seeking a partner for a relationship. There are too many variables that you can’t gauge from a phone call, computer monitor or text messages. I would travel to the country, get a feel for the place, meet people there before I even consider seeking a girlfriend or wife. Why invest my time into communicating with a woman I know nothing about except through social media contact. Everyone has their way of meeting women and this is mine. Great video, Paul. There's just to many fish in the sea here to meet anyone online imo. And yur going to have to meet them face to face anyway at some point so why not just do it from the start, eliminate the drama & all this overthinking... Get yur feet on the ground here first then you will see how easy it is to engage/meet people. . Be natural, don't force it, always take yur time & don't fear rejection. The fish are abundant..

Came from Thailand and stayed 60 days in Dumaguete. I bought "Business Cards' because a long time ago I learned this was a very easy way to introduce yourself. So in my backpack I had about 25 cards. I would meet beautiful Filipina ladies but didn't want to fumble around getting a card out. My presentation skills were very caveman type. I am like Paul, I forced myself to talk with a stranger while standing in line. Sometimes the best situations are those without any planning. The Business Card approach works best for you both. No pressure to make any decision. Girls will like that too. Gives them time to think about everything. Online Dating Apps IMHO are a waste of your time and money. No matter what you do or say, everything will be reset when you meet in person. The more you are dating in person, the quicker you know the real person. No hiding behind a keyboard.

Paul, that woman who rejected you after looking you up & down is classic! That's what I experienced most of my life. I can tell you from experience that her looking you up & down is because she is evaluating your height and concluded that you're not tall enough for her to even engage with you. I'm a bit over 5'2" and I get this exact response almost every time I approach a women. I also like the "business card" idea and will probably try that after I get settled in the Philippines for retirement. It just seems like that is a good method for both (man & woman) to remain comfortable and have time for the woman to think it over and maybe send a short text message.

I am happy to say that I found the one in fact she found me (Nov 2021) when I was taking a break from one of the dating sites. The scar tissue from the ones that were red flags, those that were coy about their intentions before the red flags, led me to create rules. One of them being no relationship until we meet in person which went in tandem with I don't give money to a woman that is not my GF. TL;DR 13 months late we met in person in Thailand (she is an OFW). Then 13 months from starting the relationship we proposed to each other on the same night. Hint: She beat me to it.

The way he is using the app is the best. Being there and then being able to go meet these ladies is the best way. Healthy LDR’s are rare and frankly I couldn’t do it. Transparency, I’m on CF and have been since 2020. My original plan was to meet someone and then come get them....but that’s a no no. I can’t live in the islands. A woman sitting alone at a bar! Unrealistic expectations. A girl sitting with friends! If you’re alone, approach her and ask to dance, she will probably be at least be civil. I’m very shy, but have found bars to be the last place to meet someone. One thing about online, no chemistry when you meet. That initial chemistry I think is the most important aspect of first contact! 😂

I will use both methods once I have boots on the ground there. I'm not so interested in trying to have something lined up for when I land. I'm not on the market until I'm in the market.

American men do that with their business cards. One handed out an emery board (nail file) with their business information on one side. Unique and I am sure if she is interested, she will contact you. I'm not sure about having any facebook address printed. I think meeting men in the grocery store works well and if he sees (not stalking her) a woman he finds pretty, might move in her direction, notice she is not wearing a wedding ring, and while looking at the same product, say hi. Her eye contact will let you know if you need to move into third gear before she moves on. If her eye contact is anything but pleasant, smile and leave. Just walking through the store with your cart and saying hi to someone you find pretty and not wearing a wedding ring works well also. Eye contact will indicate her interest and unfortunately that is all you will get and she leaves it up to you to make that next move.

Only problem I see with the cards for me is what if during the course of a week you gave out 4 or more cards and then you start getting texts. How you know which one? Of course the positive thing is only gave to ladies who interested you.

Honestly Paul, I see Scot, and probably Chad are basically nice guys, but personality is a key factor in meeting people. First impressions are a natural past of social migration. In their respective videos, both Scott and Chad have expressed a variety of views that show they have shortcomings in their interactions with other people. Scott has flat-out has expressed his judgmental attitudes and has said he does not like being around people... need I say more? Chad tends to be a bit snarky and has an air of superiority when he interviews guests on his channel. Since they both needed your presence to advance their own agendas on their RU-vid channels, I assume they were on their best behavior with you. But in watching many of their respective videos, these are the wrong two men to take dating advice from (not even if taken with a single grain of salt). Your personality is why your RU-vid channel has exploded to such an admirable level. Scotty is a 40+yo still acting like he is a cocky 25yo. Filipinas can pickup on traits like that, and just because they are foreigners they have an advantage of impressions, being a self-absorbed "player" is not as attractive to Filipina albeit more acceptable in the West.

I did something I had never seen anybody mention on RU-vid. I met my GF online, and after a couple of months chatting, I began to realize she might be exactly what I was looking for. But after all the horror stories I've heard about, I was still very cautious and skeptical. So, I did a Google search for a private investigative agency that specializes in background investigations. I found one that had offices in Manila, Bangkok, and a few other places. When I got the report back, I let out a huge sigh of relief because everything she had told me about herself was true. Such as never married, no kids, etc, etc. While not a guarantee, it did allow me to open up a lot more to someone I may be spending the rest of my life with. It was a bit expensive, just under 1k, but I put on CC and paid it off over months. Now it's been 2 years, and things are great, but I'm glad I was able to rest at ease much sooner than if I hadn't.

Meeting the 'perfect' anyone is like getting the world to agree on which ice cream flavor is the best. I think the only way to find a 'perfect' person is if they're sporting an actual halo with a set of wings. If not, well, I'd wager it's great to find a couple who's highly compatible. Great to have a good amount of self confidence, and at least be functional in any social interaction. It's usually just a matter of the 'right time, right place and right situation' sort of life event. If one has to have that 'perfect' partner, your odds are better off with buying a jackpot lottery ticket. Reality is, there's only so much we have to control the world, so usually it's just a matter of being able to adapt and willing to experience life as best we can.

I totally agree with Chad! Christian Filipina is how I met my soon-to-be (2/04) Wife! The screening process was head and shoulders above any dating site I have ever used! Sure, there were a few that I reported, because of suspicious players. But the majority were decent women! I did a video a few months ago about C.F. Dating. That's a great strategy for meeting pretty ladies. I still prefer the apps since it's quite easy to filter out the scammers and then you can have a little 'interview' to see what her values and interests are before going through all the trouble of meeting up.

I have found that you need to do what you feel comfortable with. If you are not comfortable with the situation it will never work.

Paul, even CF has issues, but they are what I found to be the best at screening...what I also found with CF was those with profiles that had been members for years were more likely to either be scammers or severely emotionally damaged! 😇

I traveled 20,000 kilometers all aroung the Philippines on my motorcycle last year and never met a selfaware individual who got scammed. Guys getting scammed by girls are guys who have already scammed themselves. Stupid is as stupid does. It is the fools who get taken for a ride. It's not that difficult to meet sincere women here in the Philippines. Just dont expect to find the good ones hanging around bars. Avoid areas that are full of tourists and expats and you will find some wonderful people.

Man I learned that business card trick many many years ago and it has been my best way of meeting women outside of friends introduction. Been using it for last 45yrs minus 13 yrs of marriage and it has worked well for me.

Ah.... Poor Paul. You know red onions make you cry, right? The surprising thing about that story is that it took place back in an age where some women were almost civil. Looks like you found a woman who was ahead of her time ! Nowadays trying to get to know a western woman is the quickest avenue to a severe case of frostbite lol ... I can recommend for any poor saps in the US who want to meet a quality woman, find a grad student from a non-western country, in my case I met some wonderful truly amazing and beautiful women and had some quality relationships that way.

this method has a drawback, there is a high chance that already in the first minutes of the date you will not like the girl’s character, because before the date you did not even have a short conversation with the girl and have no idea about her character. But its very nice for start chating with her, like a dating site, only instead of photos you see face to face and a business card as your first message

Interesting idea with the business card but I think you'd also need to include a social media account as well. Your Facebook or Instagram profile can be used as a dating profile so when they search you up, they get a better sense of who you are before they try messaging you.

I yelled over the music- WHY? She looked at my eyes and we went dancing. She dirty danced and grinded me on the dance floor and everyone around stopped dancing to watch her using me as a toy... after a couple of dances, I walked away as "THE MAN". My friends were freaking. It never happened again.

Two ways to meet somebody? Online is a minefield or a scam. How about in person? I met my wife face-to-face in HK. We dated for a few years, started a family and relocated to the Philippines. I have found that the 'Christian' aspect of that app is far from 'Christian'.

I have a question unrelated to your video. It is regarding filing a US tax return while living overseas. In all the videos I have seen so far of expats and/or retired permanent US citizens receiving social security payments overseas, it has never been addressed and mentioned. As far as I am aware (since becoming a US citizen a few decades ago), US citizens must file a US tax return no matter where they reside. Is that correct? If that is the case perhaps you can share your experience by creating a "How to" video about that subject. I would appreciate it very much. Thank you, Paul, for your time!

When and if i head to the Philippines I'm gonna me like a horse with those eye blinders and not want to look for companionship. I'm far from shy but I'll be paranoid and not trusting since I'll feel like as if my forehead should say " atm " on it. Lack trust in any relationship isnt at all good so why bother on my end.

Aren't you going to ask first if the "woman" is single at least? what if married? and husband saw you handing down your "business card"? The best way in my opinion to meet quality women, (somewhat successful in their field, makes their own money, and DOES NOT DESPERATELY NEED a foreigner for security) is to go to church, sports event , do whatever hobbies you like, travel, try meet them there, if you find out they are single, give them your "business card" same strategy, be genuinely interested in them. There are a ton of doctors, cpas, lawyers, nurses, business woman in the Philippines who are single and don't mind meeting foreigners as long as you portray yourself as serious and not just looking for fun, they will be attracted to you too. Be confident no matter how old you are. Filipinos like foreigners look wise, use it to your advantage! You don't have to settle with poor desperate filipinas all the time. Be confident.
