Does "open awareness of the breath" mean only "relaxed awareness of the breath" or are there other meanings?

I think now that open awareness of the breath really means a relaxed feeling, a calmness, an acceptance, a strength and resilience and courage, and awareness for whatever the present moment brings.ADB,MD

Good 10 minute practice, good idea to focus on the back of the eye lids looking into the darkness and noticing some shimmering lights.

I would like to add to my previous comments that an open awareness means also that you allow the mind to be receptive and curious to whatever appears in consciousness and that you remain relaxed and observant and detached and not let your emotions run amok with your mind. This will help you bring that sense of balance and pleasure into your day as you would have like riding a bicycle.

My mind is racing this morning.When you said to let your mind do what it wants I heard my inner voice say I was going to be alright.It brought tears to my eyes.I believe that voice.❤️

THIS STRESSED ME OUT! I WAS PEACEFUL BEFORE...THE WHOLE EYE THING WAS NASTY...& NOT IN THE GOOD WAY...TOTALLY TOOK AWAY THE SENSE OF PEACE I HAD BEFORE THIS MEDITATITON. USUALLY GOOD CONTENT THOUGH.

“Present moment” is a quantum state of consciousness, not just “thinking” about what you are doing. Consciousness is kept in the “thinking mode” forcibly, just like that, it is not possible to get out of the Matrix of the “internal dialogue” (Collective Unconsciousness) and for 98% forever in this life.

@maryross2859 How are you? What I've learned is that meditation is not about stopping my thoughts like I use to think, it's more about letting the thoughts float along without attaching and coming back to the breath.
