Thank you so much for explaining the bust adjustment so that it hits correctly. I made this once, but didn't care for how the seam laid across my bust. I loved the style and it was an easy sew, but I just didn't like that. Thanks to you, I now know how to fix that!
Acupuncture cured my tendinitis once and for all, before that it kept returning and getting in the way of what I wanted to do. I wish you a speedy recovery.
Really cute top. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sleeveless version and it would never have occurred to me to do it! The Forte was the pattern that launched my sewing journey and it was your brown chiffon and woven make that introduced me to LN patterns. Going to make this one 🙂
I was going back and forth on whether to pick this pattern up due to the positioning of those lines on the bodice. Thanks for your advice on where to lengthen the bodice for those of us who are taller and don't carry "the girls" up so high.😮 Loved both of your Fortes with this pattern.
I wasn’t going to buy this pattern but then I watched this video and saw your BEAUTIFUL tops!! Thank you for the inspiration - and the coupon code. I’ll be making this (with a neckband) for my summer wardrobe.😊
Thank you for showing how to lengthen the bodice on this top. I thought the seam should be under the bust but so many that people have sewn had the seam going over the bust. I know that would not have been very flattering for me.
Ah! I was hoping you’d do this top. I almost bought it this morning, but I remembered just in time you usually do a feature of the friday pattern, so i waited. Enjoy your ‘point 3 of a cent’ commission 😜 Both of those were lovely, the red one & the chiffon one. You’re so good at matching a fabric look to a pattern.
I bought this pattern in the last sale and am planning to make a sleeveless version. It’s hot where I am, in Australia. I thought, I wonder if Karina has made this sleeveless. And there it is. It’s next on my cutting table. Thank you.
Love this, and looks cute with jeans. I think I bought this pattern during the last sale, so thanks for the sleeveless inspo - it’s hot and humid in Australia.
Thank you for your always helpful tutorials! I actually had deleted my email with the $5 pattern thinking I wasn't interested, but after watching your video I was inspired. I'm grateful for your link and additional discount code.
Karina beautiful top. I couldn't stop looking at that one you were wearing though when you started talking. It was lovely! You hair also looks shorter did you cut bunch off? 🤔 Please share what you have on when you start your videos.🤗
I always to forget to mention what I'm wearing... this is the rockford raglan from Love notions. You can see the video about it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kTddn-iCWQo.html
I was looking through pictures on pattern for Forte. I need to measure apex of shoulder down apex of breast and under to where my bra band sits to get to high waist fitted correctly? I have plenty of RTW that sit in the middle of my beast and it drives me crazy. Yes will make a toile first but just want it to be close.
With knits the pattern piece can be a bit shorter than your actual bust height because the knit will stretch vertically and the skirt piece will weigh it down too. It’s not as exact as when we sew wovens and that’s why I say it’s a bit of a trial and error.
I am preparing to make View B dress. My current measurements are 40" UB 44"B 43"Waist. I"m thinking I need a FB 2X. What would you suggest? I really want this to fit.
Karina, HELP! I am attempting to cut my Forte out the Rayon Spandex. I have 2 yards 60" wide. I can't figure our how it fits. The skirt measures 32" wide. If I lay it out single layer, I'm not sure my back will fit. I wish LN had a suggested layout. How did you lay it out. The pattern says I only need 2 yrds.
What I do it extend the whole fabric and lay it out in a single layer and trace out the shape on the wrong side of the fabric. Then I play around with the back and little bodice. Someone’s a back seam is needed. I can’t tell you how I laid them out of the top of my head right now. I made the top, so the skirt was not as wide as the longer line for the dress.
Karina I want to lower my View B. to about 16 inches, shoulder to under bust. But at the same time I want to raise the V neck. How can I accomplish that?
I added length to my bodice front and back. You can do the same. Add it at the same height front and back. The neckline, I’d just raise it manually. I wouldn’t change the pattern piece, just raise it and re draw the V
