Lye relaxers are gentle on the hair. No-lye relaxers are made to be gentle on the scalp instead. Lye is sodium hydroxide. No-lye relaxers are typically calcium hydroxide which leaves a mineral deposit which you need a chelating shampoo to remove. If you don't chelate the hair afterwards it will make the hair feel rough ir "stripped"

I think your hair looks really good. I used to be scared of lye relaxers although I knew they were better but when since going back to the salon and getting them, I haven't had any irritation. 💜
I only use the cream of nature box relaxer with argon oil. It has never done me wrong. I only use cream of nature products in my hair and will never change but your hair looks great!
I don't workout the day before relaxer day and my cuz who is a licensed hair dresser does my hair. I grew up around hair my aunt hair her salon 40 years and that's one chemical I won't do myself. The product I use is Phyto. Enjoy your content keep up the good work.
