Had a job in New Orleans, doing IT work for a couple of years (lived right across the causeway bridge. Would travel on it every day for work). Recently moved for a career opportunity in Colorado. Not a day goes by that I don't miss the good food and unique atmosphere. Not just New Orleans, but small things like having a few beers from my hammock at Fontainebleau park, watching the sun set on the lake Pontchartrain. Mardi Gras festivities are going on right now as well. Sure picked a bad time to leave. Lol.

Native New Orleanian here. LOVE this!!! Would love a much longer version or on a loop. There was a pizza place on Bourbon that I used to love that is RIGHT about from the view of this picture (Vieux Carre Pizza, it's been moved to St. Ann closer to Rampart), seeing this view made me smile. I also love the way New Orleans smells in the rain. Bourbon Street no so much though, Bourbon Street ALWAYS smells like hot garbage. Thanks again, you have a new subscriber.

I'm from England, but I've always wanted to visit New Orleans. I would love the atmosphere of a warm, rainy night with thr smell of a thunderstorm in the air and the sounds of jazz coming from a rustic bar🙂

I'd plan a trip wisely if you decide to go in the next few years. It's an amazing city. It really is. It's alive. It has a palpable pulse, but the crime rate is out of control. I'd plan out what you want to do and go with a local.

I went and it was truly amazing and all that atmosphere is just terrific but make sure to have a group with you if you walk through the town at night or in alleyways I hope you make it to New Orleans and you have a great journey!

@Samuel Black ~ New Orleans is truly magical. There are neither swamps nor crocodiles in New Orleans. There are swamps nearby that are filled with alligators, though. The carjacking and crime have become nearly intolerable, but the city will survive. She always does. If you ever have the chance to visit, definitely stay with your group. A tourist walking alone is an easy mark and don't fall for the guys on the street trying to make a bet with you by telling you they can tell you where you got your shoes.
