If the reborn baby brings joy to a person I say more power to them! Not everyone is in a situation where they could adopt or foster a real human child. This woman isn’t hurting anyone and I’m glad she found something that brings her happiness.

Honestly, is it genuine happiness? Merely going through the motions at a tremendous level of makebelieve while knowing in the back of your mind it’s not real? I can’t imagine it is a positive. The story of self-deception an adult must engage in is mind-boggling and unquestioningly unhealthy. There are plenty of people who can’t afford childcare. If you have extra time, why not volunteer to help somebody in need by caring for their child, living a breathing human being, and receiving genuine affection and gratitude the in return?

Each to their own.. lovely doll.. my mother makes this and collects them.. I just think all this effort and time on a doll.. and I think of all the babies out there in need of a real home and loving parents.. ..she could do an amazing job with a real baby.. just for for thought

She can put the doll away anytime, not so much a real child, that has to be raised and cared for even after adulthood sometimes. Not a fair comparison, it's like a small child having a stuffed dog and asking for a real one, not knowing the commitment they'll have to have.

There are children out there who would love the love & care who are living in terrible Foster homes. That would enrich your life beyond any plastic mold. I know...i am a Foster parent....

I wish this doll was one of the millions of children out there that need a good home. This woman is acting like a gentle wonderful mom. What prevents her from having a child or adopting one? If she is happy doing this, then I am happy for her. If she is using this doll to bond with because she is uncertain what kind of mother she would be, I am sad for her because she would be a very good mother.

All of the fun aspects of having a baby and none of the actual responsibility. When they get tired of it, they can walk away. Can't do that with a real child.

@@WideAwake-bl7gw I never looked at it that way. Like I said, if this is something that makes people happy, it isn't hurting anyone and I'm happy for them. As a mother of three, there were times I wished I had the option to just walk away for an afternoon and destress, so I get that. I'm so pleased that these women have taken the time to figure the balance out and make a mature and thoughtful decision.

Cute doll. I am trying to ask this in the nicest possible way. What leads a person to want one of these dolls? I could see a 9 year old with one. For an adult to have one of these seems unusual. I saw a lady with a fake baby in a restaurant and she was behaving as though it was real. I thought maybe she was mentally disturbed. I guess I do not understand why someone would want one of these?

I have one who is my "comfort" baby. I have PTSD with an anxiety disorder. Holding/rocking her increases oxytocin which drops my anxiety. I've had her for 4yrs now she works great in fighting my anxiety as opposed to medication

I have PTSD along with an anxiety disorder. By holding my realborn or rocking her it produces oxytocin which lowers my anxiety. Do some research. They are also used in nursing home to help treat alzhimers. Alot of research has been done on the effect of these babies on people with mental disorders

I have autisme and am not able to take care for a baby, i have a silicone reborn and she helps me so much to still some sort of making my dream coming true to have a child❤ holding her and stuff helps me feeling less lonely or sad💕
