11:15 what is the purpose of R3? Does not look doing anything. Is it somehow related that you now have 5V instead of MCU pin?

R3 acts as a pull down for base of transistor Which will maintain low state when high signal is not provided

By use of the voltage divider circuit i find that the voltage reaching the base of transistor is 0.11v. From knowledge of transistors i know that you need at least 0.7v to bias the base of the transistor. Explain on this.
