Hey man, I've made fun of you in the past with all the pro talk, but I keep tuning in because I'm interested in your journey. Regardless of how this goes, you've managed to create a brand for yourself, and that is impressive. Chin up, man. The journey continues.
Somehow always get guilted into watching his shit in the fall. Then by December, complete let down. Especially this season, Watertown with plenty of D1 NCAA programs nearby. If TRav can’t finish a season there, he truly does suck.
@@ChristopherReece-z1p I know I'm speaking about Travis as if he's not here, but I'm not sure I agree that he sucks. I play hockey, but I'm not a goalie analyst. Just based on what I see, he seems to be pretty good. Think of the countless hours he says he put into achieving his goal of playing professional hockey. I dunno -- to me he does not look out of place. I'm wondering if the whole RU-vid thing is a distraction for egotistical coaches and players. Maybe his personality doesn't rub off well among his colleagues. Maybe they think he's an asshole. Who knows? I have no idea if I'm right, and I hope I'm wrong. I'm just throwing it out there.
Bud, you’re pretty worked up. But let’s set it straight. I used your comment to get folks to realize what we’re watching isn’t a pro. Every single year this adult traps us into thinking he’s gonna have a breakout season, only to leave us dry before he finishes a season. Views. Work hard, tough mindset, things will work out. When in reality Trav just don’t have the skills. That’s fine, I appreciate the grit. Frankly, that’s the mindset of a champion. Any coach or teammate that is scared of that is dust. Want me to name 6 studs in the league who’s only difference is actual skill? Trav is upfront about filming for content, doesn’t party, and gets to fuckin work. Even in Watertown, a city that only exists because of a military base. I COMMEND THAT WORK ETHIC. Bro just ain’t got it and that’s okay. I’d rather see him do content with current players like others have suggested. Also, Pat Shea, give up the beans. Boston ain’t calling, have a pitcher at Pat’s Pizza.
Trav, hang in there if that's truly what you love, a real pro does not quit. Your teams left you hanging, you did alright in all those games, next time be great.
no one’s gonna give up on their dream even if that dream never comes true the feeling and the love he has doing so is never gna change so why stop pursuing his dream for something he just enjoys on the side ?
@@eyeDkayThis is not reality. There is a point where you have to put the dream aside and actually worry about your future. The dude already has skin in the game. Take advantage of it. The dude is a mediocre (if that) goalie. Hang up the pads.
Whatever you decide to do trav you definitely have a future in media if you want to. You could go around the league and interview goalies, call it "tendy talk" and do your thing. I truly believe you could be a media marketing director for any of these clubs with the way you do your videos an the interactions. I think you'd kill it but I'm also not about to tell you to stop playing, you gotta do what's best for you but if I'm going to say anything it's you have some options for sure. Keep up the positivity and keep grinding towards your goal cheif.
@user-zk8gy6iv7z nah I just think he's good with the camera and he's good at getting people to talk and come out of their shell. So I think he could have a media career after he's done playing if he wanted to
Trav, thanks for sharing your hockey and rehab journey. As a goalie for 50 years, I have enjoyed your story, shown from the ice perspective i know best. I still want to buy one of your former used team jerseys. When you are ready!
Starting to feel like these teams are all in on it. Sign the guy for a little get some views for the team and league and bounce him to the next team. Feel for the guy
Sorry to hear about the bad luck, but keep doing what you do and dont mind the couch warrior haters. One thing ive noticed in your play is your speed going down and up. I might be just your size that makes it look slower. But my question is how much do you work on explosive strength in your legs?
Agreed. Even his butterfly pushes side to side are so painfully weak and slow. Zero explosiveness. His fundamentals aren't bad and he's a solid puck handler but I don't see him making it in these high levels.
Where does "asses in seats" translate from 100K YT subscribers to Mississippi? No offense Trav, but I don't think hockey fans in that part of America are driving hours to come see you play.
@@xmohawkx985 But, it really isn't pro at the end of the day. I have made more officiating an evening or an afternoon of kids and mens league games in between playing, than he makes in a few weeks being "pro", and I certainly don't call that pro either lol
Been meaning to drive over too Biloxi and watch a game there is a lot of rumblings that the Mobile Mysticks are going to come back I'm holding out hope !
Thinking out loud Trav. But I think the reason you’re being cut and moved around is because no team wants their goalie to be more focused on a RU-vid channel then the team. I love watching your videos but I think the biggest part of being a goalie is having your head in the game 100% and with RU-vid it’s probably taking up some of that space
Hockey players need a life outside of hockey. There are NHL players doing college courses throughout the season. Theres a lot of down time after an hour practice or an hour game.
@@TheLegendOfLlnkyes but when hes on the ice or dressing room hes thinking of whats a sick shot, angle or place to do commentary. Hes not there 100% at the most important place....the rink
Only you have the power to decide what this means for your career. Don't end a chapter of a story because everyone wants you to wrap it up. Finish however you want.
Trav, I was taught to keep my stick square to the ice, rebounds in the net are not going to make for a good day. However, I notice so many other goalies keep their sticks at an angle, suggestions?
They are angled because the paddle is too short to use properly when standing. Goalies don't need them to be standing anymore because of the butterfly, so when you measure for a paddle is should be in your butterfly with pads and knee pads on so your stick is square while down.
Why would a team sign him to get asses in the seats, a former pro player would do that, not a RU-vid goalie hack, my god, i can’t believe what is coming out of this guys mouth
Maybe get a helmet wrap instead of airbrushing your next bucket. Also nice little travel vlog. You've covered trains, planes and automobiles. Time for a Boat vlog
I’m back to watching your videos and I’m excited to watch em like I used to. Wither or not hockey is in your future your entertaining and make good content. Goodluck in the new year with whatever u do! 👍
I guess nothing defines this guy, but unfortunately your stats do define how you played, you may not want to accept that but at some point your history defines you. Good thing you worked out your upper body in the gym before you left town, so silly
Did I get it right that now after being released, you went from 2x skate per day to 1 skate per week or was that just for the travwl week? Gonna br long days for waiting the skate 😢
Trav you can choose to end it on a positive note, playing pro in NA. Now you can choose to invest in yourself...Only invest what you can afford to hold forever, start small and scale up.
Keep your head up dude! It’s just business as you know. And if you’re considering getting out of the game as a player, there’s a ton of other opportunities with your experience that can lead to a lot of other things to do in hockey. I was “smart” enough to join the Marine Corps when I stopped playing and coaching. You look smarter than me though so you should avoid that mistake without me saying anything. 😂😂 If I were you though, I’d keep pushing until I couldn’t play anymore! Anything can happen in this game. Be patient and keep pushing forward bro. 👍
Well welcome back to Winnipeg Trav I wish u luck with who ever picks u up next for there team it part of FHL it's not about how u did they just had to make hard choice thing's happen
It’s been silent on the Trav front, maybe he is working hard on his bench press and eating McDonald’s the entire holidays in preparation to getting a call from a “Kinda Pro” League where he can further “Define Himself” and be the tallest goalie that puts “Butts in the Seats” for the team that he will play 2 games for and then get cut, just waiting to see the pattern start over again
Damn that really sucks man but it is what it is and happy to hear that hockey still doesn’t define you Keep grinding brotha Love ya man keep going as hard as you do
Trav it’s over buddy. Hang up your skates , get a job in media and go that way. As far as hockey goes it’s been said a million times, you are just not good enough. It’s tough to accept but getting cut from the bottom of the barrel , literally, league is not by chance. It’s cause you can’t keep up. Love the videos and hope to see you doing what’s best for you, not this madness hockey “career” you’re in
Trav sorry to hear about this but you have probably seen more of the highways and truck stops than any other person out there and it's memories that you will enjoy and look back at , but why don't you start a school for goal tending because when it comes to public relations and marketing you are top notch and I think you will be great as a goalie coach
I hear the Canes need a new goalie .... Love your vlogs mate, I play field hockey in Australia, recovering from an on field injury (a player broke my leg).
Well, the further he slides down, the less he can afford to pay. So got to switch it up. If he moves back to Vancouver again, then he will have no money as it is expensive compared to Winnipeg.
Trav would make a great Social Media manager for a team in the NHL/AHL. This dude should be picked up by somebody for that. The outreach and the way he films. Could really promote a team on his platforms.
Trav, who hasn't been shy about sharing his viewpoints publicly in his vlog and podcast, has probably tanked any chances he has of getting a job at that level unless he goes back and scrubs a lot of his content.
Well, welcome back home Trav. Might have been a short journey in Mississippi but other opportunities will come. Looking forward to see what happens next, keep it up buddy !
I think to be a goalie coach you need to have experience at a fairly decent level of hockey and have technical background in the position (pro, college, CHL) this guy doesn’t have neither but could coach very young goalies
STAY STRONG TRAV!!!!! There Will Be Another Opportunity! EYES FORWARD TRAV, DON'T LOOK BACK!!!! Instruct uour agent to consider leagues/teams in Asia and Eastern Europe. RISE TRAV RISE!!!!
Next time you sign with a team we need to get you a new duffle bag 😂 I swear that motor city bag ya got is cursed. I’m blaming all the trades and goals against on the bag from here on out.
Just curious why there is so much hate for a guy who is just bringing us his everyday life trials and tribulations? One actually has a choice on whether or not to watch, but to laugh at someone for struggling is just awful IMO. I wish you all well in your lives and hope you find happiness in wherever your life takes you. To Trav, good luck and keep your head up!
@@moutyhe that doesn’t take away from the fact that it is a Pro league, so your comment is false. Once again, you have the option not to watch his content. We should be picking people up, not tearing them down.
They let anyone with a pulse and hockey experience referee in the NHL now. Go try out for their officiating combine this summer. You should see the pieces of trash they let skate now.
Christ, you've been dumped by another team in a tier 10 pro league. My rec team would score 10 goals on you in a game. Give it up and stick to farming in Manitoba.
Just let the man do what he wants ...good goalie not a nhl skill but can still stop pucks so take it easy people..not because your not the best at what you do that you cant still do it
I’d rather sleep in the Cherokee than that make shift room/garage That Florida beach is sweet. You’ve got to see a lot of places most won’t; especially the faithful keyboard warriors (unite)! Your experience(s) in life prepare you for your next adventure. Grow through what you go through. Onward and upward.
What about some of the senior a leagues in Ontario. I know they don't pay but you could also run your own goalie school. I know my kid would love some ice time with trav.
If you are considering your child to be coached by Trav then you need to further evaluate other coaching options in your area that don’t host a narcissistic RU-vid channel
